Drinks & Nightlife

I really recommend East if you want to have a cocktail and experience Stureplan nightlife without going to a club. During the day/night, East is a restaurant with an asian fusion, but after 10 pm it turns to a bar.

Everything Else

If you really want to experience Stockholm, you should visit Södermalm. Söder means South, so Södermalm is the south of Stockholm city. Södermalm was refereed to as the "coolest" place in Europe by vogue magazine. During the day you will find vintage boutiques, and awesome food. Söder as people in Stockholm call it, is very different from other places in Stockholm. It's very hip, so during the night you will find the coolest "hipster hangouts", as one person said "it's a cool place for artists, musicians, and people in the media to hang out". I would say that Söder is "movement place" where everything happens.

Gamla stan means Old Town. The town dates back to the 13th century, and consists of medieval alleyways, cobbled streets, and archaic architecture. The Renaissance architecture has been left in disrepair and has today become a tourist attraction for its charm. While the archaeology of the properties in Gamla stan remains poorly documented, recent inventories have shown that many buildings previously dated to the 17th century, can be up to 300 years older. As well as being home to the Stockholm Cathedral, the Nobel Museum, The nobility house and the Riddarholm church, Gamla stan also boasts Kungliga slottet.
