Food - South Park/Golden Hill
Places to eat in the nearby neighborhoods of South Park and Golden Hill, all within walking distance. I have not included in the list below some of the restaurants in the neighborhood like Del Sur (Mexican) or Curriosity (Indian) at 30th and Juniper, as they are less likely to be used by a solo traveler, but they are also within walking distance and would be good for a meetup with friends.
Really good classic thin crust pizza! Only a few minutes walk away, and open late. Made fresh. Choose slices from many different kinds. They often have vegan slices. Great for solo traveler.

Shopping - South Park/Golden Hill
Places to shop primarily for food but also other items in South Park and Golden Hill, all walkable. I have not included separately in the list below the small shops on Fern Street in South Park just below 30th St, they are nice to browse on a nice day, all within a few blocks on a tree-lined street. Vintage items, clothing, even a pottery studio.
Small Target Express. If you forgot anything (sunscreen, razors, etc) here is where you can pick up supplies. Also has food staples and frozen items, even a nice selection of beers and wine.
