The 2.5 hour hike is worth it. It's super interactive with climbing (ropes are provided) and you end up at the bottom of the Colorado River. Hot Springs are a plus also!

This ski resort is a local favorite. 1 hour drive away from the city. They do recommend 4x4 or chains when it's snows if you're traveling in the winter.

It's a park with lots of grass and family activities essentially.
