Visit the old town Naarden a fortified garrison town.
Naarden is an example of a star fort, complete with fortified walls and a moat. The moat and walls have been restored. John Amos Comenius, 17th century Moravian born Czech educator was buried in the city, and his mausoleum is open for visitors. Most used payment method is a Maestro debit card.
Beside cash, the debit bank card with Maestro logo is the most used payment card. In Netherlands most people do not pay with cash anymore. CreditCards are often not accepted as payment method. Especially for payments in Public Transport like in bus or tram you can only pay with Maestro card and not with creditcard or cash. Also with parking garages you can often only pay with Maestro debit card. In restaurants and shops you can always pay with cash, Maestro and sometimes with CreditCard.
