Takapuna is an iconic East Coast beach, with beautiful views of famous Rangitoto Island. And Takapuna Beach Café is a great spot to sip coffee while you look at the view! Resonably pricey food, but absolutely delicious.

Huia is a gentle beach on the Manukau harbour, approximately 20 minutes drive from our house. There are a number of walking trails and scenic lookouts to explore in the area. And the Huia Food Store is a great spot for coffee afterwards.

Arataki is the best place to visit if you're interested in walking or hiking in the Waitakere Ranges. There are tracks in the hills which cater for the full range of abilities, and the visitor centre can give you all the information you need about the area.
