A beautiful walk I do with my family every year on my birthday.
We head to the island for a picnic, a little paddle in the water and enjoy the views.

Everyday walk
Cliburn moss is a 5 minute drive down the road. It’s a lovely natural reserve with two paths. One path is around 20 minutes and the other around 40 minutes. It is a flat walk, mostly decking.
I recommend Cliburn moss because it is such a lovely walk under the trees, you may even be lucky enough to see some of the wildlife. I’ve seen red squirrels, owls, hairs , deers, buzzards and in summer wild horses that are lovely.

Lake walk
Ullswater lake is gorgeous especially in summer, but it can be very busy.
It is a absolutely beautiful national park. There is so much to do around Ullswater lake. You can do water sports, hire a boat, so many walking routes, great for padding, wild swimming and sunbathing.

The secret garden is amazing for breakfast, lunch or tea. It has a delicious menu, and outdoor seating opposite the lake.

Amazing, freshly made and tastes delicious. Recommend this to anyone. Friendly service and lovely atmosphere. A real treat. I recommend the paella( serves two)
