Neighborhoods

Once home to Jimi Hendrix and Quincy Jones, the Central District (or “CD”) is one of Seattle’s oldest and most diverse neighborhoods, serving as the historic center of Seattle’s Japanese American and Black communities. Now the CD is undergoing a beautiful renaissance of art, community, and food so don't leave without taking experiencing the magic!

Food scene

Some of the best food in the city is just down the street! Why blow your budget on an expensive Uber or circle the block a 100 times to find parking when you can eat well within an easy 5-15 minute walk? If you want to go further a field, the Seattle Eater 38 is my go-to list for essential restaurants.

Sightseeing

You can see many well-known tourist attractions - from the Space Needle and the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit to the Olympic Sculpture Park and The Gum Wall - but Seattle also has a surprising variety of hidden gems. I’m an arts guy so I'm going to recommend places where you can get unique perspectives of the city.

Summer Fun

From July 4 to Labor Day, you will be in the most beautiful place on earth and you need a plan to enjoy every minute of it. And there's a lot of minutes: the sun rises early and sets at 10pm! If you're not in the water, on a roof, or near naked people, you're not doing it right ;-)

This is more than a gift shop at the Pikes Place Public Market, it's a movement of local Native American artists. The art and lifestyle brand was started by local artist and activist Louie Gong and is now owned by the Snoqualmie Tribe.
