Two ways to get here: passenger ferry from Beaufort (simplest and easiest) or vehicle ferry from Davis. Both are only a 30 minute ferry.
The ferry from Beaufort takes you directly to the lighthouse.
The vehicle ferry from Davis drops you off at the Great Island Camp. You must have a 4WD vehicle and an off road vehicle (ORV) permit to get around. It is a 45 minute drive from the ferry drop off to the lighthouse. You have more freedom to drive around on the beach and hang out once you are done sightseeing the lighthouse.
