You will have to drive everywhere.
This is a very rural place so you have to drive at least 30 minutes to get to a grocery store or Walmart. We have a couple of Dollar General stores that are good for anything you might have forgotten. The best place to get gas is at Tidbits & Tackle. Everywhere else is very overpriced. Leesville has the most restaurants to choose from.

Best places for Christmas lights
Cypress Bend Park has a drive through Christmas light display. If you don’t mind a long drive you can see the lights at historic downtown Natchitoches. There is also Christmas in the Park in Jasper, Texas.
