The river Miljacka flows through the town, and in the immediate vicinity of the town is the source of the river Bosna, with a popular picnic area, Vrelo Bosne. Around the city are the Olympic mountains: Jahorina, Bjelasnica, Igman, Treskavica and Trebevic, which are especially during the winter months a favorite destination for tourists from around the world.

At the arrival station of the cable car there is Coffee2Go, a restaurant with a fantastic view of Sarajevo. On Trebević itself, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the panorama of Sarajevo, as well as a walk in nature to the resort Brus or Prvi šumar near the hotel Pino Nature. It is also possible to tour the remains of the Olympic bobsled track and observatory Čolina kapa, but also relax in one of the many restaurants, such as Pino Nature, Brus, Trebevićki raj, Level Up and Vila Andrea.
