An East Sooke gem. Easy meandering hike down to Iron Mine Bay about 0.75 hours round trip or 3 kms. Walk through the rainforest and down to the bay. If the tide is out you can explore a small island and catch some amazing scenic views of the Juan De Fuca Straight and maybe even some sea mammals.

An East Sooke gem. Easy meandering hike down to Iron Mine Bay about 0.75 hours round trip or 3 kms. Walk through the rainforest and down to the bay. If the tide is out you can explore a small island and catch some amazing scenic views of the Juan De Fuca Straight and maybe even some sea mammals.
Matheson Lake is a beautiful lake with sensitive ecosystems and set amongst the hills of the Metchosin region with a scenic hiking trail all around the lake. Great for swimming in the summer months.
