A 15 minute drive from St Helens the Peron Dunes are worth visiting. Ignore the first sign and go an extra 5 minutes until you see the second sign where the dunes are bigger, cleaner and give fantastic views to the ocean

A 1 hour drive from St Helens this old mining town is now a central hub for mountain biking. Expect to see lots of bike riding up and down the main street on their way to the extensive trail network. Some casual food options as well as great pub meals at the Dorset Hotel located at the Branxholm end of Derby.

The whole family will love these mountain bike trails. With green trails for the absolute beginner up to black trails for the hard core rider. The Giant shop and Vertigo hire out bikes. There are also shuttle options to the park and to the top of the local mountain for some nice descents.

The Blue Tier is about 45 minutes from St Helens. At the tier there are mountain bike tracks going to Weldborough and to the Bay of Fires. There are also plenty of walking tracks
