Tobermory is a quaint but bustling little village on the harbour at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. It is about a 20 min. drive north on Hwy 6 from Jake's cottages.

The island spans 2.1 kilometres from east to west, and 1.5 kilometres from north to south, and has a total area of 2 square kilometres. Singing Sands beach and trails is on the Lake Huron side of the Peninsula, located about 10 km. south of Tobermory, about a 20 min. drive from Jake's cottages. This offers a small, ungroomed beach and picnic area. There is also a short boardwalk and trail that passes through rare fen and dune ecosystems, which are home to four species of carnivorous plants, orchids and rare plants found only in the Great Lakes region.
There is a paid parking lot at Singing Sands.
