There is a working windmill and cafe which you can visit and buy freshly milled flour.

There is a Waitrose on the A1 northbound Shell garage less than 5 minutes away and there is a cash machine there too.
There is also a Subway and KFC in the same location. At the southbound Shell garage there is a McDonalds. Just before the A1 there is a lovely Chinese restaurant on the right hand side called the China Moon.
The Markham Moor Inn is a local friendly pub with good food and beer garden
