Walks and hikes

These recommendations are made based on local walks and hikes I have completed.
Cnoc na dTobar is 4.5km from Cahersiveen and is now one of the Pilgrim Paths of Ireland. There is a car park at the start of the trail. It is a tough but rewarding hike from sea level to 690m marked by the Stations of the Cross and Canon's Cross at the summit. You will need proper walking boots and attire and you'll need to bring water and snacks.

Beentee Loop Walk - 10kms which should take about 3-4hrs. This would be considered a medium/hard walk and the terrain consists of mass paths, hillside paths and minor roadways. Comfortable walking shoes/boots, raingear, mobile phone, snacks and fluids required. Not suitable for young children.

This is a relatively easy walk with a steady climb at the start. It’s suitable for adults and children. The views from the top are great and I would recommend wearing comfortable walking boots or shoes as parts of the walk can be a bit mucky after rain.
