this is a very family friendly location. there are showers and restrooms. there is also a nice boardwalk to take a walk on and view the beach without getting sandy. At the end of the beach, there is a jetty that juts out into the water. If you take a walk along there you may be able to see dolphins and sea turtles.

If you are looking to play in freshwater, this is the place. It is very kid-friendly. the parking is free and you are allowed to take in a cooler (no glass).
