Get yourself to the Sign of the Kiwi for a great view over Christchurch and turn around and look at the fantastic view of Governors Bay, Lyttlelton Harbour and all the the bays. A lot of wonderful walking tracks to choosee from at this point.

Sign of the Kiwi
Summit RoadGet yourself to the Sign of the Kiwi for a great view over Christchurch and turn around and look at the fantastic view of Governors Bay, Lyttlelton Harbour and all the the bays. A lot of wonderful walking tracks to choosee from at this point.
If you won't a work out try the Rapaki Track, takes about 45 minutes each way and takes you to the Summit Road, to give you a view of the bays, or try the Bridal Path Walkway, a steep climb, but not for long, and a good workout, family friendly.

Riccarton House and Bush / Pūtaringamotu is a unique New Zealand heritage site consisting of two historic buildings, flanked by beautiful open parkland and ornate gardens, bordered by Ōtākaro / Avon River and set against extensive native bush forest featuring kahikatea trees up to 600 years old. This tranquil 12 hectare reserve is located just 3.5 km from Christchurch city centre. Feel free to explore the house grounds and bush at your leisure. Viewing of the inside of the house is by guided tour only and these operate daily.

With all the old Coffee Culture favourites and some new and delicious cakes and desserts it's a great place to visit either before or after a movie and on cold winter days.
