Visiting any touristic place subway is the cheapest and fastest option day and night.Evenif you are spending 2-3 days in NY you should get weekly pass for 32 usd +1 usd ticket charge. Its easier to take short subway rides between locations and use google maps for finding route. Uber is the best way to reach to airports, subway to airports are not free and you need to pay extra 10-15 usd evenif you have the local subway card. If you are traveling together with 1-7 more people you should order uber pool (1-2 people) uber x(4people) uber xL (5-6 people) to the airports it will be faster and cheap

NY people are agressive and there is many homeless and drug use on the streets. You should keep your valuables safe and do not comminicate with random people on the street.This is same in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

You can eat slice cheese pizza for 1usd everywhere. Bagel and cheese 2usd. Dont hesitate to go to deli shops for sandvich they make food very well in deli stores.

Please check citypass.com and try to get a bundle of 3 or 5 activities and book activities before you go. In NY top of the Rock or Empire state is very expansive but you can save with city pass and booking before you go.

NY has a cold climate but its not freezing all the time. In winter all you need is a waterproof sneaker or boats and wearing layers under your coat. Subway, museums, cafes inside is very hot but when you walk outside its rainy or windy. Sometimes its very hot at 12-4pm and you need to take some layers out and put in a bag. If you walk around with a backpack its the best carry your water, snacks, hoodie, extra socks etc in your bag and enjoy the city all day long.

Take the subway to Times Square purchase bus ticket from Port Authority bus terminal. 14usd to go and come back.(30minutes ride)Take a cabin luggage with you to carry your bags.This outlet is the cheapest and largest place for a big shopping. Victorias Secret, Guess, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Burlington, Marshalls very high discounts ideal for buying gifts to family. It will take your whole day to go there and finish shopping but you will get a lot of discount. I reccommend going there super early because its so crowded at evening.

If you have an urgent need to buy something cosmetics-electronics-hat gloves any random staff you should first check the dollar stores. Pharmacies like Walgreens and Duane Reede may be the second go to place.
