Great spot for surfing or boogie boarding. Shingle beach. Exciting road in but recommend taking you time on the corners. Best leave your dog at home/in the car as though private farmland.

Bring all the food you need - the beauty of Pigeon Bay is that there are NO shops!
Best buy all the food and drink you need before you leave Christchurch. There is a supermarket in Akaroa - 20 mins drive from our cottage. It is well stocked but expensive, or a little store at Duvauchelle (10 mins drive) which has milk and bread.

Fill your car with petrol before you leave Christchurch
There is a petrol station at Little River closing at 7.30pm, Duvauchelle has an Allied petrol station (24/7).

Walking shoes, rain jacket, swimming gear, food and drink.
That way you'll be prepared for most eventualities :)
