Taxis or personal cars are the best way to get around.
A few places in the town area like Bryant Park, Coakers Walk and lake can be covered by walking. Though personal car or cabs are the best way to get around, there are city tour operators who charge per person basis and organise group tours

Bring Sweaters , Shawls , Windshields and slippers
kodai is cold throughout the year. Even during peak summers the night temperatures will be around 25 degrees . So people who are not used to this temperature will definitely needs sweaters /shawls. Casual home slip ons are advisable.

Shop for farm fresh Vegetables and fruits and come in contact with the local flavors on Sunday by visiting the Sunday Market. kodai is very famous for Mountain Garlic. Mountain Garlic are very good for health and they have a unique flavour.
Write your name or your loved ones name on a key chain and gift a memory . Carve a name on a sea shell and take home a souvenir . You can find many places in and around lake who do this and also in many other sight seeing places
