Kit Hill Country Park and the summit of Kit Hill is located .7 miles up the hill from The Signal Box and The Sidings and is ideal for rambling and dog walking. Being so close to home, it’s great for a good uphill stretch of the legs and the wonderful expanse of open space is perfect for dog walking and the views along the way are breathtaking on a clear day. If it's a windy or cold day, please dress appropriately, the summit is over 1000 feet high and can be very bracing at times. There are multiple pathways and trails to follow here here and several dog waste bins at the entrances to the park. On a clear day you can see Plymouth, the South Coast of Cornwall and the sea beyond. A walk up to the monument at the top of Kit Hill is recommended at this point you are 1096 feet above sea level.

Located in Gulworthy on the road to Tavistock. Highly recommended for shady dog walks in the summer, bike riding and for those fearless folk who like a challenge, we highly recommend tree surfing

Dog friendly
At the bottom of Luckett Hill as you enter into Luckett village on the left hand side is a large car park with a stream running beside it. If you park here and then continue walking up the lane you'll reach Greenscombe Woods and Nature reserve (Duchy of Cornwall). It's a lovely dog walking area and usually very peaceful and quiet. You can walk along the bank of the River Tamar or up into the woodland, it's beautiful all through the year as the seasons change. Recommended.
