Very close in Tory Street is a fabulous speciality food shop called Moore Wilson. They also have beautiful fresh fish. Well worth a visit.

Sightseeing
It is an easy walk from Aro Street, down Willis Street and into Lambton Quay to the cable car. Take a ride up to the top, and then walk back down to the city through the Botanical Gardens which are beautiful.

From Te Papa Museum it is lovely to stroll around to Oriental Bay and continue walking around the bays as far as you like
