You can go to Fitzroy Island for the day or stay overnight at the resort, in bungalows or camping. It is only 1hr from Cairns. When you’re there you can do all sorts of water activities and snorkel right off the beach. Turtles can be seen from the shore. Bring a packed lunch or eat at the resort or Foxy’s bar. Highly recommend.
