Great staff, great coffee, great food! They have a nice, indoor seating area and a nice, shaded patio if you want to eat there. Otherwise it is a very short walk with your take-out items to Westport Marina overlooking Upper Rideau Lake.

An interesting lock station with wide open views of Upper Rideau Lake and Lower Rideau Lake. The difference in water height on the two sides of the lock is only a few feet. The lock station has an interesting, manually operated rotating bridge that is rotated to allow the boats to pass through the lock.

Chaffey's Lock is the next lock station to the south of Newboro on the Rideau Canal system. It is a very pretty area to visit and walk around.

A park with good walking trails and a beach (I think) just past Westport. You get a great view of Upper RIdeau Lake and Westport from one of the lookout points.
