What everyone else said! I had a wonderful stay. The suite is beautifully designed, with special touches everywhere. The garden is lovely and I wish I had time to enjoy it on this very short business trip. Communication with Paul was smooth and easy. I actually used to live nearby and I absolutely recommend the neighborhood as a fun and convenient home base from which to explore DC. I'd definitely stay at the garden suite again.

This is a rare and lovely place to stay for a trip to DC. Well-located in the city's best neighborhood, excellent hosts and very cool. I've been twice and would come back again.

Staying at Paul's and Zach's apartment was awesome! Every little thing is designed down to the smallest detail. They provide us with lots of informative brochures and little snacks. The small apartment has everything you need including fridge, cooker, towels etc... It is very welcoming and located in a very nice area of D.C. Check in and check out is really flexible. We didn't meet Paul but his partner Zach. He is a very nice person! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitively come back!

Paul and Zach did an outstanding job making me feel very welcome in their place. They are very thorough and thoughtful in making sure your stay is comfortable. For example, the garden suite is beautifully decorated and very comfortable and has so many wonderful, homey touches (e.g. biscotti, chocolates, tea, coffee, etc.). When you arrive, Paul gives you a detailed map and list of nearby restaurants, bars, etc., which is a terrific resource for getting to know the neighborhood. They both seemed like they wanted to make sure you had a great stay in DC. I stayed here for two nights and it was the perfect place to rest and unwind between sightseeing excursions. Plus, it was wonderful to be in a neighborhood that felt more like the real Washington, D.C. I would definitely stay here again.

Paul was a great host and had a bunch of recommendations for places to eat and drink in this awesome neighborhood. He was also very responsive to messages and came through when I needed a couple of random things. Tons of historic character in the meticulously renovated and decorated apartment. Great location in a great neighborhood. I only wish the weather was better so I could have enjoyed the garden and the outdoor seating at the restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood.

My girlfriend and I had a great time on our DC trip for my birthday. Paul's little apartment was the perfect place for us. It was less than a 10 minute uber ride to everything in DC. The room is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures if not better. I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks to Zach's skills the place really comes to life at night with all of the lights on. The lighting is designed so you feel like you're in a movie and the art direction really brings the rest of the room to life. Paul greeted us when we arrived at sunset and took us to the entrance in the back alley. Behind a big red gate lies their little garden heaven, and tucked away behind the garden our cozy room. The walls are covered in presidential art and the room comes equipped with water, snacks, coffee, shampoo, facial wash. It's actually a full hotel room for a fraction of the price. I'd recommend this room to anyone and I hope to be back soon.

Walking into Paul’s unique space, felt like traveling back to early 20th century DC. Our host gave us great pointers to guide us through the neighborhood. Parking was easy, but we were able to walk everywhere. The garden was our favorite spot to savor summer evenings.

Julian welcomed me early morning as I checked in from a red-eye to DC. Only then I realized that I landed in my favorite and hippest part of DC, the 14th Street corridor with awesome bars and restaurants a mere block away. The area is residential, green, quite and safe, slept so well! The bottle of water was the touch that made me feel home, and the conversation and connection was what continued to make this stay everything right about AirBNB (not to be forgotten the lovely breakfast). Would and will come back anytime and recommend whole heartedly this rustic urban designer chic.

Julian and Lucrecia are a very sweet and welcoming couple. Their house is located in one of the most gorgeous DC streets. Everything is near, the area is walkable and enjoyable. All amenities are as advertised, including two amazing and very friendly cats. I recommend this place 100% Carlos

Julian and Lucretias place is inspiring and cosy. It is located in a quiet safe neighborhoud (specially during the night) with many shops and restaurants. J&L are very nice and thoughtful. This is typically a stay that gives you the feeling that a bnb is nicer and more interesting than a most hotels.

Julian and his wife were extremely welcoming. Their home is as big as their hearts. They took care to ensure I felt comfortable and the place is in an idea location with access to Metro and several eateries. Will definitely be back...

For what ever reason you’re in DC Jessica’s place is perfect. I was in town by myself for a 1/2 marathon and a conference. The location was awesome, I Uber’d everywhere so the location to proximity to DC was great. The bed was comfortable, the pillows too. Jessica is extremely sweet and is a beyond excellent host. She also has a whole water house filter, I felt truly at home. Thank You Jessica.

Renovation should be completed asap.

Couldn't have been happier with our stay. Jessica was a great host and made us feel so welcome and opened her whole home to us. Jessica's home is beautiful and well appointed. Fresh local eggs, dairy and organic fruit and a Vita-mix was a huge plus for this morning breakfast/smoothie fan. Easy trip down to the sights via Uber/Lyft, bus, bicycle or walking. We walked home from the National Mall two days and used a bike share the third day. Dinner in Georgetown is only a 5-10 minute walk away. If I return, I'll stay here if it isn't already book.

My experience was absolutely perfect! The house is a true gem, better than in the pictures, recently remodeled, every detail tastefully thought. Cleanliness unmatched. The room is beautiful and the mattress and linen so comfortable. Private, nice, new and clean bathroom. The neighborhood in the heart of Georgetown, easy to get everywhere. Jessica greeted us and made us feel at home immediately. We were treated as new friends. I recommend this rental and definitely will stay here again, I told my daughter and she is booking today to be the next guest. Jessica deserves to be a super host!

Jessica's house is very beautiful, in a wonderful part of the city. Close to restaurants and shops. She was very easy to communicate with and had very good suggestions for our stay. We were also able to have a wonderful breakfast in her lovely backyard. Highly recommend!

Jessica well deserves the title of super host. She answered all our questions and had many suggestions to improve our stay in DC. More than that she was a gracious host and made us feel welcome. Her home is as described very stylish and comfortable. Beautiful, in fact. Everything is clean and everything works well. The neighborhood is very safe and well-located to provide a quintessential Georgetown experience. Transport by train is a 5 minute walk and a bus service just down the street. We very highly recommend Jessica and her beautiful home.

Exactly as described. A clean, modern, spa-like space in a classic D.C. neighborhood. The ice cream shop below was divine and taking Uber into the city was quick,easy and much less time and money than the metro. The extra air mattresses came in handy for our family. Be sure to look under the sliding lid of the coffee table for extra blankets!

Our host responded to our inquiries in an expedient fashion. We enjoyed our time in DC and my sister was impressed with the accommodations. It was such a lovely place to return to each night! This was our first Sister trip now that our kids are close to launched. She is an artist so we both enjoyed taking in the art show in the studio on the floor below as well as the music in addition to the gourmet ice cream shop on the first level.

Close to lots of restaurants and a quick drive to downtown.

A great place to stay with good connection to city center. We can highly recommend this apartment and enjoyed our days there very much.

Had a nice really stay at this tiny house in Capitol Hill/H Street area. Walkable to transit and restaurants and a very well appointed space (thoughtful touches, nice linens etc). The design and layout is very thoughtful, which is especially important in tiny houses. Host was very communicative and check in was a breeze.

Linden met us as we arrived and was able to give a quick rundown of the tiny house. Some small snacks were provided to make it more inviting. All basic amenities were provided and there is a very helpful welcome booklet with restaurant reviews (Toki Underground was amazing). She had great communication and was flexible with our schedule.

the cottage is great! clean, well-appointed, cozy... everything you need as a solo traveler. linden was super communicative and helpful; i requested a visitor parking pass late at night and he got it to me before I left for work the next day. the neighborhood is perfect too--has a bit of an off-the-beaten-path vibe but is also very close to various amenities and attractions.

Do you follow a bunch of tiny homes on instagram and wonder if you’d love one of your own? This perfect little spot in a great neighborhood is just the right “try out.” It has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Great host, great location.

Séjour très agréable chez Roberta. La chambre est très propre et spacieuse, tout comme la salle de bain privative. Le quartier est très calme; la maison se situe à moins de 10minutes à pieds du métro. Je recommande vivement ce logement !

I can definitely recommend Roberta‘s place in Washington D.C. to stay for all of you thinking of booking her place to stay. She was a really kind and friendly host even from the start on. The house is very new and beautifully decorated, which also made our stay felt very comfortable away from home. The room was very big and had a spacious bath on its own. She also let us use her kitchen and living room freely if we wanted to. The location of her place is about 10 minutes walk to the metro station, from there the metro will take you to downtown dc in just a few stations. The neighborhood itself was also very relaxed and homey. So all in all, totally recommended!

Jessica is a good host!

The place and location is very much as described. The home is stylishly furnished and located near shops and nightlife. However, breakfast was never served. Jessica texted me with the list of items that I could take from the fridge for breakfast but all of those were spoiled. I ended up eating my sandwich leftover from the night before. Also, pay close attention to the note that additional occupants may stay at an additional cost.

Gorgeous townhouse within walking distance of the metro, M street and shopping, great food markets and beautiful parks. It really is a beautiful home. Jessica was such a welcoming host and really helped me settle into DC life!

At Jessica's you get to see DC from close proximity and it is a comfortable place with nicely hot water, very neat and the sitting room is just amazing. Would stay here once more. Loved the flexibility you offer the guests at your place.

Elegant and modern vibe. The kitchen is awesome and the back garden, living room, and rooftop deck provide plenty of places to relax. The home is quiet and comfortable. This townhome is located in a beautiful residential Georgetown neighborhood and is a short walk from the Georgetown business district, DuPont Circle, Rock Creek trail, and Kalorama, so there are many places to walk and many restaurants. Spring was in full bloom and walking around the neighborhood did not disappoint—so many beautiful homes and gardens. Jessica is a wonderful host and has helpful suggestions for things to do and places to eat. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable and has a nice private bath. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Such a cool little studio. The big window walls are beautiful. There is a super cool old radio in the room that we enjoyed listening to. The bed is like a full futon - comfortable. It is very quiet and peaceful. We loved the neighborhood - fun coffee shops and cafes. Central to lots of stuff and GREAT if you'll have a car with you. Marc was friendly, came over to help us figure out how to use the AC, and was very responsive. It was a great little private space. Would definitely stay here again.

The Garage Mahal was great! Just the right amount of space, everything was neat and clean. Location was good! Marc was efficient with his communication and made sure we were accommodated. I would definitely recommend this spot to a friend.

This is a great quirky stay in the lovely neighborhood of Bloomingdale. Access is from the alley. I didn't use the garage parking space, but that's a great value in itself. The room was clean, well-lit and as described in the listing. Lovely view into Marc's garden with the wall of glass windows, but privacy is available with floor to ceiling curtains. A/C worked great on this sweltering D.C. weekend. I'd definitely stay here again!

This is a great space for people who are like an 8 on the fussy scale, which we totally are! If you are a 10, it might be too bare bones for you. The parking, big windows, and sort of "alternative space" were awesome, and being able to build a little fire in the stove was great in the evening. I read somewhere on here that there were dodgey neighborhoods between Garage Mahal and the center of town--honestly the reviewer must have been from Nebraska. It was in an AMAZING location, I recommend the Big bear cafe for coffee and the Red Hen for dinner. We never felt worried for safety once. There is a little radio, and no tv, so it's really peaceful. Again, having the parking is awesome--we spent over $100 last year on the same trip, just parking the car. We pretty much want to roll in and out without all the interaction, because these trips are stressful, and he was fine with that, but checked in via text to make sure we had gotten in ok. Totally appreciated. I will try to book whenever I'm in DC. Loved it.

It was just perfect, exactly what I needed, wanted, and looked for. For me personally, a much better option then any hotel room. Privacy, garden - and I could afford it.

At first, Marc's place seems a bit strange or curious, but we have been really comfortable there. The AC was perfect and the bed comfortable. You have to walk about 15 minutes to the metro station, but then you are really fast in the main spots of DC. Thank you, Marc.

It was so wonderful to stay at Kevin’s house - he was a wonderful host and puts so much attention on details that made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable! He also shared great tips on things to do around DC, public transportation, etc. and also, the house itself is adorable, beautifully decorated, everything with modern finishes and appliances. i have nothing but good things to say about our stay (and my boyfriend agrees!). Highly recommend staying here!

This is a lovely place, absolutely beautiful! Restaurants right there, metro in walking distance. Kevin is a great host, and we had a wonderful stay in DC!

Kevin space was grandiose nature and quite honestly flooring from the moment you walk in I thought I was living in a magazine for a quite a while and overall it was an amazing experience due to the central location and honest Hospitality of Kevin himself I couldn't ask for a better spot to stay in DC. 5/5

Kevin's apartment is beautiful. He is quick with all responses and left very clear directions for entry/apartment set up and use. We were able to try out some of his local food suggestions which did not disappoint! Loved staying here. Would highly recommend.

I enjoyed my stay here. Perfect for what I needed and great location.

While we never directly met Tianni, she responded to our arrival quickly and had everything in the room prepared for us. All amenities listed were provided and the space was exactly as described. She even gave us a pair of earplugs to use in case her cat made too much noise. The room is cozy and well-kept. We mostly drove around, but the neighborhood was agreeable and close to both a metro and some notable areas of DC. Highly recommended, I would stay here again on my next trip.

Great apartment for people who like to walk a lot. Everything worked out well from check in to check out. The place was very clean. It’s a small apartment so I would recommend it to people who want to do a lot of sightseeing and will not spend much time in the apartment itself. :)

We really enjoyed our stay here. Tianni was an excellent host! She was very accommodating, helpful, and quick to respond to messages. The neighborhood was charming and not too far from the places we wanted to visit in D.C. such as the National Mall. The room and bathroom were both clean and nice. We really appreciated the amenities that Tianni offered in the room as well (such as a mini-fridge, wifi, and a fan, etc.). The place had everything we needed for a wonderful visit to D.C., and I'm sure we will stay with Tianni again on our next trip to the area!

Great location as it was close to the metro. We loved the market that was nearby! Many choices for dinner but we chose gyros and were not disappointed. We came down from traveling to Canada and had been gone over a week from home. Appreciated the washer and dryer!

Great location, great host and lovely and clean accomodations. We arrived late and had no problems accessing the apartment. The location was great, close to everything and some great local shops and restaurants.

Communication when booking and prior to arrival was excellent. The apartment is lovely and equipped with everything you need for your stay. It is located in a quiet street near to all local transport so you do not need a ca . Meseret & Sam had a parking permit for us on arrival and we parked right outside the apartment and there were always spaces in the street although we did not use our car the entire time we were there. The apartment is near a number of supermarkets with excellent choices of take away food if you want to eat in but not cook. On our last night we had a meal at Sam's restaurant, Ethiopic, which is a 5 min walk away. The meal was fantastic and we would recommend you try it as it was so good and our first experience of Ethiopian food and it will not be our last. Washington is an easy city to access with so much to see. you can walk to many of the sites/museums etc and we tended to walk to our first site in the morning then keep walking until our feet hurt and then got public transport back, usually the metro. If you want to save money while there, the tram on H Street will take you to Union Station and is free and you can then get a Circulator bus to most significant tourist sites and again this is free. Washington is an awesome place to visit and staying at Mesert & Sam's apartment is the perfect place to be based and they are great hosts.

We had a wonderful holiday stay at Meseret's. Parking was very easy, Meseret was very accommodating with check in as we were all arriving at different times. The place was perfect for our needs and very conveniently located. Highly recommend!!

Amazing space in a very strategic location. The house is in a quiet street yet close to the metro station and restaurants. Meseret even let us leave our bags in his house after we check out. Would love to be back again!

This appartment was my best experience in airbnb so far. Its spacious, very clean, good located and comfortable. Adam and Jen provided some cakes and bevereges upon arrival, they also were very helpfull and accomodating. I definitely recommend this appartment!

Clean, your own parking space, thoughtful amenities, safe, unique downtown neighborhood, walkable restaurants and shopping, but mostly, close to Washington's most famous and historic sites.

Convenient location to the capitol, very helpful parking space, comfortable accommodations, and flexible and helpful hosts. Tip: my GPS couldn’t find the address so you may want to confirm driving directions.

Nice efficiency that has a lot of nice touches. For the biker there was a map and two helmets. It was great that snacks, pop, tea, coffee, and water were in the room. Oatmeal packets were a nice surprise too. There was shower soap and shampoo in the bathroom as well. This place is only a 4-5 block walk from restaurants on h street. As the area felt quite safe, I had no qualms about doing the 2.2 mile hike to Nationals stadium to catch a ball game too. Finally, the guest guide the hosts had on the end table had some good tips in it. I'd stay here again!

Le logement est bien situé,une demi heure à pied du Capitole et bien relié au centre par le bus.Il est propre et fonctionnel si on se nourrit "à l'américaine" ou à l'extérieur. C'est un quartier résidentiel, très agréable, sans commerces de proximité cependant.Il est situé en semi sous-sol, avec une entrée indépendante (sauf à l'arrivée pour la remise du code d'entrée, on ne voit pas nos hôtes mais ils sont à disposition en cas de problèmes bien sûr); Le seul point noir à notre avis est l'absence de fenêtre remplacée par des pavés de verre en partie haute car le logement est semi- enterré, ce qui oblige l'emploi de la lumière électrique en journée.

Great place to stay in DC. Had amazing amenities, it’s own private entrance, close to downtown, would definitely stay again!

My first experience with Airbnb and Hillary’s place was incredible! Pictures are accurate, super cute basement studio with walkout patio. Little touches like plants, the wardrobe, lamps made it very homey. Always had hot water, nice & cool for the summer months, and the roku were nice to have. Hillary also leaves a binder with metro map, recommendations, and all other info related to the unit in a binder; very sweet of her. Truly a 15 minute to metro, but if you prefer to Uber we did that once it was $14 from middle of downtown DC to the front door (very reasonable!). Neighbors were either very nice or let you be. After dark I might suggest a taxi or Uber, not because of people just simply it’s dark and 15 min walk. Bad things can happen anywhere. I would 110% stay here again!

This Airbnb was fantastic. The description was spot on and the room was extremely clean. Overall, I was impressed with the hospitality, description and room itself.

The Apartment itself was very nice and clean and check in was a breeze. There were a few things that weren't available like plates but other than that no other issues with inside the property. However the location wasn't great and seemed unsafe as we had been advise by others we had spoken to. We didn't feel safe walking about and would recommend getting Taxis/Uber's into the centre of D.C. That was the only thing that had affected our trip.

The room was OK. A little chilly but clean and the hosts were inviting. I really appreciated the coffee maker and a clean bathroom. It does get a little noisy in the mornings with the dogs running upstairs and you can hear the walking and talking, but it isn't too bad. The neighborhood was not the greatest. I would recommend you take uber instead of walking to and from the metro station. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

The host's apartment was clean and spacious with great amenities. Previous reviews indicated it was close to the metro. It was about a five minute walk to the nearest metro bus or a 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station. It took us about an hour/hour and a half to get to the DC sites. Contrary to past reviews, the host was not accommodating to us during our stay. Due to the location and host's attitude, I would not recommend staying at this Airbnb.

Perfect stay! Only a $15-$20 Uber to any of the main attractions of D.C. Close to a metro station if one would like to take that route. Extremely clean and had everything one would need. Loved my time there and will be back.

Absolutely perfect! My girlfriend and I arrived late from a long drive in and it was wonderful to walk in and feel right at home with music playing and the cool glass fireplace going. Cliff was a great host. It was incredibly clean and everything was very easy to find.

Just minutes away from Takoma Park Metro station (less than 20 minutes to central DC) and a very short walk to the busy Silver Spring shops and restaurant. Located in a beautiful quiet residential street, I had the most amazing nights sleep. Cliff was very accommodating, friendly and a thoughtful host. I will definitely be staying at his place for my future trips to DC.

I don’t recommend this place ! It’s cheap. But it’s like a black neighborhood. A lot of wired people idle around. Creepy. I even saw one crazy black guy yelling in public naked with his **in front of some white girl ! Also more interesting ! After I checked out I left my bag there ! When I went back i saw the room was ready for next guest ! But the bed the quilt cover are NOT changed for new guest ! So terrible ! It’s cheap. But lack of hygiene ! If you have better choose ! Avoid this !

My daughter and I stayed there for a few days and loved it! Kevin provided a great list of nearby places to eat/shop so we walked daily to those restaurants to eat. He also left great instructions for riding the bus, although we took an Uber or Lyft to the national mall and other places most of the time. The place is comfortable and cozy, I slept like a baby. Lots of towels and bedding provided, as well as snacks. We could hear footsteps and some barking from upstairs, but it is a basement so that's to be expected. I appreciated the lock being so easy to use! All in all, it was a fabulous place to stay in DC.

Super thoughtful perks for getting around the area. The neighborhood was fantastic and we stayed on foot the majority of our time there. The dinner recommendations listed were extremely helpful and we enjoyed the space very much! The bedroom was spacious and there was plenty of room to put away our things. We enjoyed having Netflix and popcorn to come back to at the end of the night as well!

We stayed at Alan's beautiful place during our visit to Washington and it was amazing! Alan was always responsive and we had no issues at all. Cannot rave on enough on how every little thing was thought of to make our stay very accommodating. It had rained during our stay and Alan had provided umbrellas and a warm and cosy place for us to return to. From a very lovely gas fireplace to the heated bathroom floor tiles...just perfect! Alan is an amazing host! He ensures your stay is stress free and includes as much information for you as possible! Not only does his space give great access to the Shaw neighborhood but also the tourist attractions! Staying at his apartment was incredible- heated bathroom floor, a Keurig loaded with a great selection, direct tv in the living room and bedroom, gas fireplace AND a heated towel rack! He also keeps a stash of items you may forget to pack for yourself such as body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer. This was by far our favorite space! Thanks Alan!!

The row house fireplace was a great experience. From the heated floors and towel rack to the comfortable bed and pull out sofa, it was like living in luxury. Great location as well, within walking distance to the metro and several restaurants. Everything you might need to know is provided and Alan is a very communicative and great host. The room was very warm too, with a constant source of heat - leading to dry air.

Alan was a great host to communicate with and the apartment was fully furnished and well organized. The bathroom was heated and there were even heated towels. We had a cosy time sleeping on the sofa bed and the fireplace was definitely a bonus after a long day walking outside in the cold. The location of the apartment is very central and Alan provided comprehensive tips on where we could visit and get food. The stay was very pleasant overall.

Diane is really great! She is so helpful. On my first day here she took me around showing me all the near by supermarkets, bus stations and metro. The room was perfectly furnished with all the things I need. It really made me feel like home.

Diane's place was perfect for what I needed. I was there for the entire summer for an internship. There was plenty of space for all my clothes and belongings, and space for me to have enough food to cook three meals a day. Because of similar schedule's, Diane was very understanding of my comings and goings, and made living there while working easy. The metro is a 10-15 walk down a road (with sidewalks) so it was a perfect way to start and end my day. The neighborhood itself was so cute and safe; there are great restaurants (a couple of which that have great bars) and the farmer's market on Sunday has a great variety and great prices. I would definitely stay here again!

Diane's place is great! She's really nice and knows a lot about the area. The neighborhood is quiet. The area has several affordable restaurants and coffee shops. It's not too far from the Takoma Metro station and doesnt take long to get to other parts of DC.

In many ways, this is a great place to stay. The room is spacious, the neighbourhood is nice and quiet, and Diane is a very generous host. The only drawback is that the acoustics of the flat are a bit weird. In the living room, the TV is placed at the feet of the stairs leading upstairs, which means that when the TV is on, you can hear it from the room, behind a closed door, very much as loud as it is in the living room itself.

This place is a great value. 2 beds (one is a futon) that are more comfortable than most hotels. The bathroom is large but if you have trouble getting in and out of things, I wouldn't recommend as the tub is deep and stands in the middle of the room. Classic clawed tub set up! The place is close to attractions; we didn't try public transport but we used Lyft and it cost around 10 dollars to get us to most things. If you need absolute silence all the time, this place may not be good as you can hear everything upstairs but Marc keeps normal hours. We had forgotten our shampoo somehow but there was shampoo, conditioner, soap and towels to use! The dryer and washer were extremely helpful in keeping our packing level down. Overall, a great place that felt more like staying with some friends, as Marc was very helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend!

Marc is a very communicative, responsive host. Check-in was easy and the apartment is exactly as described. There are no grocery stores nearby, only convenience stores, so plan ahead. It’s a quick walk to bus stops and the Metro, so no car, no problem. I was astonished that at night it was as quiet as my home in a rural area! All in all, this was a great Air BnB experience.

Hosts like Marc are the reason Airbnb is such an incredible community. The place was clean, spacious, comfortable, and easily accessible. Parking on the street was a breeze, but my friend and I were able to walk to nearly all of the sites we were interested in seeing. Marc was quick and thorough in responses and quite accommodating. I recommend checking out Busboys and Poets as well as Big Bear Cafe (both walkable from the basement apartment). Would absolutely recommend and wish I was staying again!

The stay at Alpers was perfect, just what we needed after 12 hours of traveling. It was clean and clearly cared for. We were only there one night on our way to PA but it was just right in price and ammenities, it's also a tad bigger than I expected from the photos. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a full size fridge, stove and microwave with a grocery store a block up the street if you prefer to eat in. Katya greeted us from their deck in the back back but other than that we just communicated through Airbnb. Overall, if we find our way back to D.C. we'd definitely stay here again.

The instructions and the check-in guide that Alper and Katya gave me were very helpful. Everything was clean and super confortable for all of us (4 guests). We took the recommendations into consideration and had breakfast at The Coupe. It was delicious! The overall experience was very pleasant.

Spacious, close to public transport that newcomers to the city could use with confidence, clean and bright even though there are few windows. The indoor lighting and having front and back entrances helped to make the apartment feel accessible but cozy. The apartment is clean and filled with helpful extras like a washer and dryer, and a parking space off the street. With a couple of issues that came up, Alper responded quickly and graciously. A good choice for our 8 night business trip. We would stay there again!

This space, while small, is very well appointed. I'm not sure about it sleeping 4 since the second bed isn't all that comfortable, or large. However, the host has provided all the little extras a traveler might need or might have forgotten to bring. The apartment looks like it was newly renovated. A nice extra was a private parking space, which was somewhat challenging to access since I was driving a van, but it did fit with some maneuvering. Helene was friendly, warm and responded right away. She also was flexible about our having changed our ETA several times. The neighborhood is quiet and near shopping and restaurants.

Everything was amazing! It was a short walk to the subway which we took everywhere and the restaurants and stores nearby had everything we needed. On top of that we were given complimentary breakfast items such as coffee, oatmeal, waffles, milk, etc. Also with a notice our check in was able to be moved to accommodate when we would be arriving into town. Helene was so thoughtful and really made our experience amazing!

Gustavo and his dog were very welcoming. The house was immaculately clean and full of thoughtful touches, with access to great parking. This was my first experience with Airbnb and I would highly recommended Gustavo’s place. He made us feel safe and cozy. I have insomnia (in most cases) and I slept like a baby at Gustavo’s.

Gustavo's home is beautiful and full of thoughtful touches for guests. Check-in and communication were effortless, the bedroom and private bathroom were very comfortable and completely spotless, with good AC and excellent shower pressure (both much needed in muggy DC!). Jonah's flat is in a nice neighbourhood, 10-15 minutes walk to the metro Columbia Heights. The area is nice and it feels safe. The apartment at first sight is a bit empty and cold, probably due to the old furniture, but that is also what makes it charming. Everything is sparkling clean: the floor, the bathroom, the bedsheets. The bed is comfy. Jonah is very responsive and helpful, communication was impeccabile from the beginning to the end. If I come back to DC, I would definitely stay again.

This is a nice airBnB. Overall, I would stay here again. Pro's - The space is very stylish. The decor is very nice. The owners were very kind and having snacks, sodas, and fresh flowers was a very nice touch. The unit is centrally located and easy transit to most of the area. Con's - One of the bedroom walls had what looked like water damage which it appears had been repaired but the wall has not yet been repainted. The water pressure in the bathroom i felt was low, and it took a long while for hot water to reach the sink and shower. The entrance to the unit has no blinds or curtains. I was able to see people in the alley as they were walking their dog, and they were able to see me. This wasn't a concern for me as I'm a man in my thirties but this may be a concern for single women traveling along.

Overall, a wonderful stay! We really appreciate Louverture going the extra mile to prepare snacks and refreshments for us! Louverture was also very prompt in response- especially when we urgently needed her assistance as we forgot the PIN code to the house.

A decent place that is indeed very conveniently located next to the DC Streetcar, which will take you to Union for free and you can transfer there for where you need to go. Was less cleaner than I would have liked, but the room itself was fine, and the bed was comfortable. Liked the natural lighting setup of the bathroom a lot.

Great location close to public transit to the union station allowing for transit options all over the DC area. Clean, comfortable room. Bed was very comfortable. Staying at Read’s house feels like crashing with a friend. The house is cozy with lots of fun historical decorations. You have a great room to yourself and a shared bathroom both of which are nicely renovated. Read was very helpful during our stay and had great recommendations around the area. But above all else, you can’t beat the location. Close to food and easy to transport to all the local places. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back again!

Le séjour chez Paul s'est très bien passé. Vraiment au calme dans un quartier résidentiel. Paul sait rester en dehors de notre vue quand il le faut. La chambre est propre ainsi que la salle de bain. Il y a un tout à proximité notamment un restaurant avec des plats à emporter si en avez marre des burgers (sweet & natural). Pour aller au Capitole il faut 45 minutes en bus et métro et compter 3.5 à 4$ le trajet. Un bon rapport qualité/prix, à recommander.

Paul’s place was the cleanest AIRBnB I have ever stayed in. Everything was just as Paul said it would be. Only thing I would complain about was the mattress was border line uncomfortable

Paul's place was very clean. Its looks just like the pictures posted. And Paul is cool. My My stay at Pauls Place was good. I was traveling through a few states driving and I wanted to stop and visit my grandmother and get some rest also possibly go to an in DC. Paul's place wads 5 minutes away from my grandma's so the location was good. The house was very clean and I was in the basement so it was very private. I didn't have any problems there was pretty comfortable. But when I arrived initially, I felt like Paul was judging me a bit. after I met him for the first time I went outside to get some more bags of groceries for my car. he actually came outside and was kind of looking inside my car to see what I was doing. it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Also I prefer to cook because I don't really like eating takeout. Paul was okay with it but he was worried that if I was cooking with anything with bones in it that it would damage his pots. Also, when I was cooking he came in the kitchen and was staring really hard at the pot while I was cooking. it made me feel so uncomfortable. I figure since you advertise the kitchen you would have separate pots that the guests could use, without feeling uncomfortable if they use It. also from the basement you can hear every footsteps and every movement of furniture. It woke me up at 6 a.m. besides those few occurrences it was pretty cool and the basement has its own entrance.

Bruno's home was perfect for my last minute getaway to DC! I'm definitely going to come back next time i'm in the area.

Great location. It is close to a many shops and restaurants. Perfect for someone who needs to spend an overnight in DC.

The place is great. Right in the middle of downtown DC accessible by bus, metro, taxis and everything. Nice place to stay within a normal budget.

Would recommend! Great room and location, parking garage is close and easily accessible in a lovely neighborhood.

This was a remarkable and extraordinary Airbnb experience, possibly the best day I've ever had. The amenities and thoughtfulness was outstanding, the house is beyond beautiful, it's very conveniently located in a great neighborhood close to public transit. Bruno did a wonderful job communicating and making all the guests feel at home. They had high quality breakfast food items for us to help ourselves to in the morning!!! This is a beautiful historic house and it was a unique D.C. experience to stay here. It is in Columbia Heights by Howard University, in a safe and diverse area. The mattress was perfect and I slept soundly. Water pressure and heat is also great. I wanted to express special thanks to Nigel who is the housekeeper. She really helped me in so many ways and makes the space beautiful and functional with her diligence and care. Bruno was always responsive and ready to leap in and help troubleshoot anything. Please note that this B&B is more like a home dedicated only to B&B and that the landlord / owner / tenants do not live here. You will therefore be sharing space with strangers but there is so much space that you can easily have your own privacy, in your room or otherwise in the many wonderful common areas. And the prices cannot be beat. I will definitely return to this B&B if I've ever revisiting DC! I wish all Airbnb hosts could be so conscientious, hospitable and functional. Far and above exceeded any expectations.

You will not easily beat the price / value / location of this property in D.C. The house is just close to everything, the neighbourhood safe and lively. Motorized foreigners : beware of the parking limits, it' free only on weekends. Communication with Bruno was excellent. Only the bathroom cleanliness could be improved - but I know it also greatly depends on your co-hosts manners...

Uncomplicated stay, nice, clean room. Definitely recommendable.
