The NSW South Coast incorporates the Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Bega Local government areas. East Lynne where Greenwood Park Estate is located sits on the southern extremity of Shoalhaven Council District.
Based in Nowra, Shoalhaven Council administers one of the most spectacular coastal regions of the state. The well known Jervis Bay area is home to one of the top ten beautiful beaches in the world for 2016 as listed in The Guardian. Further, Hyams Beach is reputed to have the whitest sand in the world! Add to them, Honeymoon Bay and Point Perpendicular and you have an amazing list of places to see. Further South St Georges Basin, Sanctuary Point, Sussex Inlet, Fisherman's Paradise and Lake Conjola make interesting stop off points as you venture South.
The rolling green hills dotted with farms, cattle and sprawling acres are the perfect introduction to the historic town of Milton. Stop for morning tea and ramble down the street to check out the local knick-knacks; or have a pie at the historic bakery at the lights. Just a few more clicks down the Princes Highway and the legendary beachside town of Mollymook opens up before you. Beautiful beaches and one of Rick Stein's restaurants located at Bannisters are highlights. Mollymook blends right into the beautiful fishing harbour town of Ulladulla. Cupitts Winery and Restaurant is a great spot to grab a bite to eat. Warden's Head provides great ocean views and more than likely a pod of dolphins or a whale or two can be sighted. Where else is there a functioning lighthouse for a roundabout?!
South of Ulladulla there is copious quantities of beaches to explore - Bawley Point, Merry Beach, Kiola or Pretty Beach. The kangaroos in this area are many. No-one should ever leave this area not having seen a kangaroo! Backtrack a little to the highway and East Lynne is just down the road... or head through the Murramarang National Park down to Pebbly Beach Road. The roads here are well kept gravel, so only tackle this route if you have an appropriate vehicle.
Your luxury villa at Greenwood Park awaits you at 34 Pebbly Beach Rd, East Lynne... just a few hundred metres off the Princes Highway in a beautiful bush setting.
Your Villa is equipped with a modern full kitchen and luxury fixtures. Whip up a storm in the kitchen if you're in the mood, or check out the East Lynne Store just down the highway. They specialize in PIES! All types, savoury and sweet. You can also pick up a few necessities including ice, bait, fishing bits and pieces or fuel.
During your stay at Greenwood Park Estate, numerous places for sun, surf, fishing, boating, golfing etc are on your doorstep. Retrace your steps to Ulladulla anytime to explore other spots worth mentioning - Burrill Lakes, Dolphin Point or Lake Tabourie. There's plenty of eating spots too.
Venture further south from your luxury Villa to places south. Lake Durras, Depot Beach and on through to Batemans Bay. Batemans Bay is situated at the mouth of the Clyde River. The Bay beaches and sights are fantastic. Almost too many to visit, the beautiful beaches are dotted all the way down the coastal road to Moruya.
In "The Bay" you can rent a bike or a boat; paddle or swim; surf or paddle board; play golf or mini-golf; bowls or go-carts. There's so much to do! Or catch the boat for the Clyde River Cruise up the River to Nelligen, an old gold mining town. Or there's the bird park at Batehaven.
A short hop down the highway is the Eurobodalla Botanical Gardens. A few more k's and you enter a novelty town - Mogo! But Mogo is serious about helping you enjoy your stay. Visit the Gold Mining Village or the famous Mogo Zoo. Or fossick through the dozens of boutique stores down the main street. There's Art and Books and Ice Cream and Souvenirs and Crafts and Plants and Knick-Knacks and Ice Cream and... you could spend hours here just browsing!
Moruya is the seat of the Eurobodalla Council... a lovely town straddling the Moruya River. Take the time to stroll down the main street and check out the chain saw sculptures adorning the shopping area.
The tiny town of Bodalla - the home of Bodalla Cheese is not far south of Moruya. Watch as the cheese is made and buy a few delicacies before you leave. There's a beautiful old church on the hill as you come into the town. You'll find some fascinating shops here too.
The highway wends further South - Narooma, Tilba Tilba, Tathra, Bega and a hundred other lovely places to explore. All within a day's trip from Greenwood Park Estate Luxury Villas at East Lynne. The Sapphire Coast lives up to its name with its brilliant blue-green water.
While the places to see and things to do from the North to the South of the NSW South Coast are worth the effort, there are many interesting things to do right at our front door! Six k's further down Pebbly Beach Road and you arrive at the famous Pebbly Beach! Take some sunflower seeds or fruit and the birds will sit on your hand or shoulder or head and greedily eat what's offered. It's a magical experience. The bossy lorikeets will try to monopolize the food, but the parrots and currawongs and wood ducks and other hungry birds will make your day! But save some food for the kangaroos down near the beach. Such a beautiful place!
On the western side of the highway through the stunning state forest, venture to the "Pick Your Own" Berry farm [Seasonal]. Then stop by the popular swimming spot at Shallow Crossing. Drive through the brackish Clyde River and follow the river road back to Nelligen and Batemans Bay.
An Encyclopaedia of the NSW South Coast would take an age to compile and a large Spotted Gum for paper, due to the diversity of landscape, rivers, lakes, towns, beaches and a myriad of other attractions.
All this and more is available to you to explore from your Luxury Villa base. We love the South Coast! You will too!
