“Don't forget to explore the boardwalk on BOTH sides of the River - not just the Bossier side! Bossier is the newer, glamorous side with River Boat Casinos, excellent upscale chain eateries, and lots of shopping - but the Shreveport side features historic buildings, scenery, spectacular food and better libations!”

“Great local brewery that originated in Shreveport and has distribution through multiple states. The tasting room is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-9pm and Saturdays 12-9pm. They don’t serve food at the brewery but normally will have food trucks out front on Fridays and Saturdays. Located at 1251 Dalzell Street. ”

“Amazing collection of art, with a focus on art history, specifically impressive is the American art collection, colonial America (Benjamin Franklin dinner plates…I mean nothing gets my appetite going more than BF)…the American west and western expansion era…the Albert Bierstadt (of the Hudson River School) paintings of which I think there at least two and maybe three, alone, are worth stopping in and admiring. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery houses an exceptional collection of art spanning more than four millennia. Since its opening in 1966, the museum has become particularly well-known around the country for its impressive collections of works by those titans of western art, Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell. The park is so beautiful, Japanese maples grace the grounds, a brook runs through it and there are many life size wildlife sculptures that are scattered throughout the park. The azalea festival happens every spring and the park is ablaze in various shades of pinks and reds.”

“Another Food Truck turned successful Restaurant - Ki is one of my absolutely favorites in Shreveport...and I'm not the only one. On a busier day you will be lucky to find a place to sit - good thing tacos are a hand held food! Try the bar side when they have live music for a really eclectic experiences for all the senses!”

Aquarium
“This aquarium opened a few years ago and it is so fun with interactive exhibits like the cold water exhibit where kids (and adults) can explore hands on sea anemones and star fish. There is a large sting ray exhibit where you can pet the sting rays as they glide through the water. Jelly fish are lit with black lights…and of course you can see sharks! SALT cafe is a great way to end your aquarium trip, with a well rounded menu with both foodies and families in mind; enjoy burgers, shrimp Po-boys, salads and a kids' menu while overlooking the red river.”

“If you are looking for something off of Diners, Driveins, & Dives check out Strawn’s for breakfast or lunch. The ice-box pies have been featured in Southern Living multiple times. They have multiple locations but we recommend the original location at 125 Kings Highway in Shreveport.”
