“The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a privately run museum in London, England, dedicated to the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. It is the world’s first museum dedicated to the literary character Sherlock Holmes. The best example of the living period costume I have come across! Absolutely everyone was in character! After giving the introduction, the butler was asked if Sherlock Holmes was real, and he kindly explained that the museum was there to help build the story. Brilliant experience and highly recommend!!”

“Launched on 22 November 1869 in Dumbarton, Scotland, it embarked on its maiden voyage from London to Shanghai on 16 February 1870. On its first voyage, Cutty Sark carried ‘large amounts of wine, spirits and beer’, and came back from Shanghai loaded with 1.3 million pounds of tea. There are some great spots for food and drinks around the Cutty Sark, including Greenwich street food market. ”

“The closest you’ll get to an actual village in South London, Dulwich is full of adorable places to mooch and some serious house goals. You may not have thought to visit Dulwich before, but after a little wander, you’re bound to fall in love.”

“Founded by the illegitimate son of the 4th Marquess of Hertford, who, on his death, left his mansion and collection to the nation, on the proviso that nothing was ever sold or lent out for an exhibition, so you can always bank on turning up and finding the Titian, Rembrandt and Velazquez paintings in situ. It’s also very strong on Sevres china, French furniture and armour and - this is very much an acquired taste - wax sculptures. The location is a winner too, being central, set back from Oxford Street and close to Selfridges. A delightful cafe draws in locals from tony Marylebone. ”

“This is worth a trip and a good base in central London if you need to rejuvenate. Don’t go to the cafe, go the the basement bar on minus one, through cafe and down the stairs. Much quieter and prettier .”

“Anyone remembers that famous scene in Notting Hill when Hugh Grant visits Julia Roberts during her filming of Henry James? For fans of the movie this is a must to see where the scene was filmed. Kenwood House is a beautiful former stately home located in a really quiet and tranquil area of Hampstead Heath so it’s a perfect place to visit if you’re wondering what to do on Hampstead Heath. You can head inside to see the interior of the home or enjoy the gardens from the outside. Kenwood House is home to one the many Hampstead Cafes called The Brew House Cafe and it has public toilets so it’s a lovely spot to stop at on a walk around Hampstead Heath whether you want to see it from the inside or just the outside. Kenwood House Opening Times: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM All Week. Kenwood House Entrance Fee: Free.”
