This self contained bungalow has some unique features, such as a beautiful open air bathroom, a private trail leading to a rock jungle lounge, free wifi, and a handbuilt four poster queensize bed from local blackbean timber.
This bungalow also has its own basic barbeque cooking facilities so you can do your own meals. No fridge but we provide an esky and ice blocks when you have stuff to keep cool.
Our place is a non-pretentious off-grid eco-lodge, we don't run big diesel generators for aircons.

This cabin was hand built by the owner, as much as possible from local and salvaged materials, and the outdoor bathroom is a unique feature, as well as the private sitting area called the Jungle Lounge, a large area of forest all to yourself with a short walking trail to the seats. Cassowaries have been known to walk through this open air bathroom.
You can also make coffee, tea and meals with the barbeque and basic kitchen facilities which are part of this bungalow.

Guests are welcome to explore the sculpture trail that winds its way around the five acre property, have a swim in the creek when it flows, and in-house Thai massage is available in the gazebo by the big fish pond, but please book ahead.

Note that government legislation prohibits electricity grid in this area, so we have to survive on batteries charged by generator and solar, which means we are quite limited in how much power we can use, please do not bring in electrical appliances and be careful with your electricity use.
Refrigeration is hard to organise with limited electricity so we provide you with an esky (cooler box) and give you ice blocks on a daily basis.
We also have to survive on limited internet quotas, so we give all guests a limit of 100Mb per device per day.

I was born in NSW, grew up mainly in South East Qld. I have lived in Brisbane city and for 7 years in Charleville in Queensland's outback. I also lived in Toowoomba for 20 years. I came to North Qld a few years ago and have recently taken over the management of the awesome Rainforest Hideaway. I enjoy meeting the many International tourists and locals alike.
