Built in 1876 and surrounded by tall pines and birches, Farmview offers guests amazing views, modern restoration, and direct access to the trails. Situated on 2 acres, it looks across the street to farm land and foothills. Relax on the screened porch and enjoy sweeping views of the loveliest farm across the street. Watch grazing cows grazing in the fields and waterfowl in the large pond. Located close to the center of Andover, outdoor recreation is abundant. Come enjoy Nature's Playground!

お部屋
Farmview, a vintage farmhouse, has been lovingly maintained, restored, and renovated to make it a comfortable stay for families and groups. All guests find their favorite spot in the house or the yard: napping in the hammock on the screened porch, reading a book on the lounge chairs and listening to the cows and rooster across the street, cuddling up near the fireplace on a cold winter evening, toasting marshmallows on the fire pit under the stars, playing cards around the dining room table. Farmview offers a memory-making stay to add to your recreation of the day.

Outdoor recreation is abundant throughout the year. With direct trail access, guests with snowmobiles, ATVs, mountain bikes as well as horses will enjoy the ride-in/ride-out and no need to trailer equipment. Three ski areas are all within 30 minutes of the house: Sunday River, Black Mountain of Maine, and Mt. Abram. Hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, boating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and so much more is located in Andover and the surrounding area. Swimming under a covered bridge? Yes! Waterfalls and other hidden swimming holes? We can give you directions! Looking for amazing fall foliage? Visit late September through mid October and we will let you know our favorite drives and overlooks.

YOUR SPACE: Entire 2-story vintage farmhouse renovated with your comfort in mind and decorated in a classic colonial farmhouse style. The surrounding private two acres of property are yours to explore.

1st floor:
The main entrance through the sizable screened porch leads to an entry with several hooks to hang your outerwear and rugs to store your footwear. The laundry and utility room is conveniently close by for additional storage of gear and outerwear.

The entry leads to a spacious modern kitchen that is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, dishes, utensils, and small appliances. The kitchen table seats four. The new large appliances make cooking for two or for a crowd easy.

With a small step down from the kitchen, the open dining room and living room areas give ample room to relax, eat, read, and make memories. The dining room table seats six comfortably. The built-in bookcases offer several collections of books including Maine fiction, classic literature, children's literature (focused on nature and New England), trails maps, field guides, and New England related non-fiction. The living room has a large sectional to seat several guests as they watch the Roku TV (DVD player too), warm up by the fireplace, or gaze out into the forest through the large picture window.

Off of the living room is a new bedroom addition with a queen bed and windows with 180° view of farm and forest- north, west, and east.

The first floor also has a small bath with a full size shower, fluffy towels, and toiletries.

2nd floor:
The other three bedrooms and an open sitting room with a daybed, offer five beds for your family or group. The queen bedroom has incredible views of the farm and includes a desk and ample plug-in options for remote work. The forest room with a double bed overlooks the birch and pine forest. The "boys" room includes a twin and double bed under the eves of the house and charming outdoorsy décor. The sitting room is open to the hallway and offers a "bonus" sleeping option as well as extra space to relax, play games, or watch the ROKU TV.

The main hallway upstairs is stocked with games, novels, and toys to enjoy.

The upstairs bathroom is airy and bright, with a full size shower and tub, ample storage, and more fluffy bath linens including extra large bath sheets. Look closely at the doors and walls in this bath, they are original and even have the 1800s square nails.

There are two staircases to access the second floor. One is original and steep (and can be blocked off) and we recommend using the larger renovated staircase for little ones and those with mobility concerns.

Outdoors:
The large screened porch is every guest's favorite. It is a great place to dine, sit, drink, play, swing, nap... and especially enjoy the view of the mountains and expansive classic farm to the West. Even on a mild winter day, it is nice to bring out a quilt and drink hot cocoa while taking in the view.

In the warmer months, the backyard is set up with a gas grill, firepit, seating, and a picnic table. On the edge of the forest, it is not uncommon to watch chipmunks, squirrels, and deer walk through the yard. Access to the backyard is easy though the laundry/utility room.

Summary:
Living/dining room: Seating and dining for six to eight, Wifi and TV with Roku (you can sign into your own streaming services), DVD player and small DVD collection, fireplace (winter only), bookcases and reading area.

Kitchen: Seating for four. Electric oven/range, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, wine/beverage fridge, coffee maker, microwave, many small appliances, utensils, and other accessories you may need. Cookware (including lobster pot), bakeware, dishes, glasses. Also coffee, tea, sugar, spices, cooking oil, salt and pepper. Several cabinets near the range are left empty and ready for your groceries.

Laundry: Washer and dryer. Starter detergent provided. Cleaning supplies are also available in the laundry room.

This is a very rural town, surrounded by the Western Maine mountains. The views are breathtaking and the town atmosphere is like taking a small step back in time.

The town offers numerous outdoor recreational opportunities in all seasons. Hunting, fishing, ice fishing, horseback riding, bicycling, mountain biking, hiking, boating, swimming, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ATV and snowmobiling ... Other outdoor adventures are a short ride a away - three alpine ski resorts, cross country ski trails, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, numerous hiking trails, and more.

The town of Andover has a few amenities. There is a general store that has groceries, alcohol and other sundries as well as pizza ovens and a grill, serving meals all day. There is a seasonal ice cream shop, cross country ski store, hardware store, bike shop, herb shop, and masseuse. In the center of town, you can enjoy a picnic on the Town Common, play tennis or basketball, and chase the kids on the two playgrounds. Our library offers a book swap section and their WiFi can be accessed even during off hours. A few of our local farms sell meat, dairy, eggs and produce directly off the farm. There are also several Registered Maine Guides in the Andover area that are available for guiding wildlife viewing, boating excursions, fishing trips, hunting parties, etc. If you need recommendations or are looking for something specific, please ask and we will help find the service or product that you need.
