I'm from Toronto and moved to London to teach film theory, semiotics, and mass media at the University of Western Ontario. I completed my Phd studies at University of Minneapolis and have taught advanced theory courses n New Hampshire, Syracuse, Toronto, Guelph and Peterborough. Several years ago I left academia to open a local sustainable coffeehouse in London which I ran for 8 years. Having worked as a chef during my undergrad, the hospitality sector was a natural step for me. I am a foodie and love to cook and bake, including delicious gluten and corn free treats that I share with my guests. My property is a beautiful Victorian former mansion that was sectioned into apartments by the original Victorian owners, who lived here til the 1950s. They built the Lorne cottage as an office for their son, Lorne and you can still feel the love they put into this building. I have planted the property with plant species indigenous to Carolinian southern Ontario and most of it is edible. I draw from this bounty to create treats for my guests who are welcome to take in the peace and solace of this carefully tended garden. This is a canna-friendly property where people are welcome to relax and de-stress. I speak English and rusty French. I aim to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
