The Penthouse suite at the Blue House, Newbury Hill, is a large three level, apartment originally conceived for corporate entertainment.

The Penthouse suite is a totally air conditioned three level apartment( one of two apartments in the building). The main entrance is on the middle level from the electronically gated car park( which has a workmen's changing room and shower), into the large luxuriously furnished open plan lounge and dining area which also has a powder room and contains part of our extensive collection of local artist’s work. The fully equipped professional level kitchen is on this floor adjacent to the dining area.
There is a separate entrance door from the car park to a short corridor with another powder room that leads to a small open patio and the stairway to the open roof top deck.
The whole front and part of the side walls are tinted blue floor to ceiling glass giving incredible views over the whole of Goodwood Park, Port of Spain and the Gulf of Paria.
The upper level accessed from the lounge or separately from the car park area is up a short flight of stairs and is an open deck covering the whole rooftop area with another powder room. This space is generally used for cocktail parties or BBQs.
From the entrance level a stairway descends to the bedroom floor which has a main foyer off which lead the laundry and three bedrooms. The master bedroom is entered via a very large walk in closet with vanity area and direct access to the bathroom with a spa jet bath and separate shower and WC. It has a king sized bed and an office/ sitting/ kitchenette alcove. The bedroom also has a direct access to the bathroom. The front and side wall are again full height blue glass walls.
The en Suite queen bedded middle bedroom is entered from the foyer and there is also a connecting door to the master bedroom making it very suitable for young children or a staff member.Again the front wall is floor to ceiling tinted blue glass.
The third en suite bedroom has a queen bed and is entered from the foyer , like the other two bed rooms the front and side wall is full height glass.
Maid service is provided , free of charge, five days per week.
As the property has stairways between the floors it is not suitable for guests requiring a wheel chair or for those with severe mobility issues.

Access to the Penthouse suite is direct from the car park area, secured by an electronic gate.The shared pool and pool patio with bathroom and shower is accessed externally by a private stairway and is two floors down.

The property is on the upper Ridge of Newbury Hill, one of the premium gated residential communities in the west of Port of Spain, forming the boundary between Goodwood Park on the east and Glencoe on the west.
It is about one kilometer from the Western Main Road- the nearest point for public transport, about five kilometers from downtown Port of Spain and the same distance from the Chaguaramus peninsula with it's beaches and marine activities. At the entrance to Newbury Hill is the Trinidad Yacht Club and the Glencoe strip mall with a supermarket, bank, pharmacy, dentist's office , bakery and casual dining places. A little further away are the Westmoorings Falls Mall and the Diego Martin Starlight Mall. Both have a wide selection of stores, a gymnasium and eating places. There are Roman Catholic and Anglican churches in the vicinity .
Whilst it is possible to use taxis or a contract driver( which can usually be arranged for the guest's account) we recommend a car as the location and topography militate against walking.
Because of the significant drops from the rooftop deck and open patio the property is not really suitable for young children or infants.
Although the main entrance floor has direct and level access from the parking area both the rooftop deck and the bedroom level are accessed by stairways and are not wheelchair accessible although guests with minor to moderate physical limitations should have no difficulty.

The neighborhood is a quiet upmarket gated residential area overlooking Port of Spain. Largely comprised of executive housing it is a cul de sac with no through traffic or commercial activity.

I am a retired british Chartered Accountant although I have lived in the west indies for nearly 50 years. My wife is a retired medical doctor, Trinidadian and British. We travel extensively and have homes in Bequia (ST. Vincent and the Grenadines, Intervale (New Hampshire, USA) and London, UK. which we also rent short term when we are not using them. Our primary retirement occupation is property management and we have a number of longer term leased residential properties- our guiding principle has always been that we will not own or rent anything in which we ourselves would not be happy to live in. Our main pass times, apart from travel, are boating-sail and power, deep sea fishing, skiing, classical music-particularly opera and good food and wine. We also spend time in Europe, usually Italy and the south of France. We have three children and five grandchildren who have become the focal point of our lives.

My co host, Jamie, and I live in the neighborhood and are always available to help. We also have a property supervisor who is on call to deal with any issue that may arise.

The property is serviced five days a week by our housekeeper who will clean, tidy up and change linen. This service is included in the listing price.
