Hoveringham Hall: Superb flat with stunning views
ゲスト4人, 2寝室, ベッド3台, 1.5バスルーム
I am married and have five children aged 15 to 31 (not really children any more!). I work from home as a professional artist. We love people, dogs, country living and all the activities country life offers. Things we can't live without: friends, suppers by our roaring fire, Aga cooking, muddy wellies, church bells and the sound of leather on willow from the village cricket club, birdsong, the night sky (there is virtually no light pollution here), the quiet at night, the owls, the occasional deer, the birds (Hoveringham is popular with birdwatchers). I enjoy travelling, history, gardening, and walking. We have three very amiable Labradors but we know not everyone is keen on canines, and you'll only meet them if you wish! We are on the edge of our village, and the Hall overlooks its own estate which comprises arable fields and ancient pasture. We have footpaths galore and some of our land bounds a glorious stretch of the River Trent. The Nalls have lived at the Hall since 1858 and the house is full of the family's history. The flat comprises the entire top floor of the house and enjoys wonderful views from all its windows, overlooking the garden, and the Trent valley. It is self-contained, having its own entrance (you will need to climb stairs, as it's on the second floor) and it's a totally private and secluded haven. It has gas central heating. The garden and grounds are available for guests to sit out in, and enjoy - the views are lovely over the Victorian orchard. You might be joined by our very friendly chickens! We have ample parking for cars. For guests using public transport, however, we can help with transport to and from stations / buses, if we can. We will greet you on arrival - thereafter, we'll leave you alone but we are here 24/7 should you need us. We aim to provide our guests with a comfortable, quiet, and enjoyable stay in a lovely, traditional English country house. Tea and coffee is provided (and biscuits), as are basic breakfast ingredients (cereals, bread, eggs, fruit juice) and what a view from the kitchen table! Eggs come from our hens. The village pub The Reindeer serves take-away meals (please check their website for opening hours post Covid-19), and there are excellent pub restaurants in neighbouring villages too. We are very conveniently placed for Nottingham, and the historic market towns of Southwell and Newark. Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, Papplewick Pumping Station, Brackenhurst (Nottingham Trent University), Newstead Abbey, and a multitude of tourist attractions and National Trust properties are within easy distance by car. We are on hand to help with travel advice and so on, and to make your stay a memorable and happy one!
