My place is good for Solo Adventurers. This room has a very comfortable king single bed. My place is a few minutes from town by car yet set into the bush. If you need a double bedroom I have another listing "Cosy Artsy Retreat set into native Bush."
I welcome walkers on Te Araroa - The Great Walk. If you would like a meal I can provide one for you. Let me know in advance. Price negotiable.

My place is small and unique. It is a Lockwood house built in 1965 which features an atrium garden. The house is set into native bush at the back yet is very close to the centre of Whangarei. The is a stream at the bottom of the gully which sings merrily after heavy rain.

This is a very quiet street with native birds flying around frequently. Whangarei Quarry Gardens is a short walk down the hill. This is a subtropical garden with many pleasant walks spread over many acres. It also has a cool cafe..The Quail Cafe.

I love being an Air BnB host. The guests are always so interesting and diverse and I feel as if I am travelling the world from my lounge. I retired last year from teaching but this year am working two days a week teaching. I know! It's a bit silly. My three daughters have left home but we maintain very close and loving relationships. I have one grandchild who is the joy of my life! Swimming, gardening, walking and reading are my main interests...and I have been known to burst into song for no real reason at all. If I annoy you when singing just tell me to to pipe down. I'm used to it!
