The hermitage is 2.5 miles from I-35 at exit #203 Billings/Marland. Dairy Queen, Subway and gas station at this exit. Easy access from I-35. We are 12 miles from Red Rock out in the country. Great hiking. It is very relaxing, cozy and quiet. You can see the Milky Way at night. It is good for couples and solo adventurers.
We can also accomodate babies and toddlers. We are grandparents, so if there is anything you need we probably have it. Great for just running around.

The hermitage is made out of strawbales. It has walls of clay, straw, sand and water lovingly put on by hand. There is a book showing how it was built. The toilet is composting. You just put in a couple of scoops of wood chips instead of flushing. (There is no odor unless it is very windy.) There is a double bed. We can provide a crib and pack-n-plays. We are on the wide open plains so you can enjoy the sunrise, sunset and all the stars in the night sky. Plus observe the wildlife.

The whole space is yours. You are also welcome to hike around and experience our 80 foot labyrinth. Or just relax on the porch or lay on the ground and watch the stars.

This is the country. The hermitage is rustic and on a gravel road which makes for some dust. It is very quiet and secluded.
Please do not book if you are traveling with animals. We have a family member who is allergic and uses the hermitage. It needs to be a safe place for him.

The hermitage is in the country. The closest neighbor is 1/2 mile away. It is a great place to just get away and have some quiet time. You might see deer in the pasture or hear coyote at night. A total country experience.

My husband and I are in our mid 60s. We love nature and the outdoors. We like to visit the national parks and other scenic areas. Also enjoy meeting the local people wherever we go.
