Located in Burlington, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada – in the heart of iceberg alley and along one of the most rugged shorelines in all the world, this picturesque haven is a welcome destination for visitors seeking escape and the ultimate relaxation retreat.

Each ‘OME Tent is a short walk through a wooded trail heading towards the ocean. These spacious 14 by 16 refuges sleep 1-4 people comfortably and come equipped with Queen Beds with a cozy down comforter to provide any warmth not coming from the propane heater. Solar power provides a sustainable and eco-luxe environment that will leave you feeling connected in ways you never thought possible. Each space is beautifully decorated with vintage, rustic, and traditional décor that compliments the backdrop of the wild surroundings. The handmade bed frames sit on hardwood floors that extend outside the tent as a front deck for lounging on a hand-made Adirondack chair.

Rugged, serene, and calm – this stay is not just unique, but almost indescribable.

Shared portable comfort facilities are available on-site. A community shower facility is a two-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from the site.

A separate office building provides check-in services, Free WI-FI and a relaxation area.

Burlington is a town of roughly 350 people located on the eastern side of the Baie Verte Peninsula between the towns of Middle Arm and Smith's Harbour. Situated in the heart of Ice Berg alley, Burlington is home to some of the most breathtaking coastline on the island of Newfoundland. With so many hidden coves and rocky inlets dotting the shore, Green Bay has some of the finest sea kayaking in Eastern Canada. Its surrounding hills are ideal for hiking and exploration, and the abundance of rivers and brooks that flow into Burlington provide some spectacular fresh water fishing. During the winter months, this region of Newfoundland can be twice as active as the summer with hundreds of kilometers of snowmobile trails criss crossing the peninsula. Without a doubt, Burlington is an all year destination.

'Our wilderness tents are the first step toward our long term goal of creating a sustainable micro economy for the town of Burlington. Currently we have nine 'Ome Wilderness Tents, and an ‘Ome Pod. As we evolve we hope to grow by adding multiple pods, additional ocean front tents, and eventually a central lodge.

Not only do you get to have an authentic cultural experience by immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of Burlington and the surrounding area, but your dollars are also going towards supporting the economic resilience of small town Newfoundland.

Because of you, ‘Ome has been able to hire local people who may have felt compelled to travel away for work. These incredible members of our 'Ome team are dedicated to giving you the best experience possible.

As we are still in the pioneer stage of this project, your feedback is encouraged . We love to learn and grow, and we always want to improve.
