Quiet central Port Douglas location. Recently refurbished and metres from 4 Mile Beach and Port Douglas' restaurants, bars and shops. Tranquil Retreat Penthouse is an architecturally designed three storey deluxe apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, air conditioning, laundry, a private roof terrace, full kitchen, BBQ and WIFI.

Just metres from iconic 4 Mile Beach and Port Douglas' restaurants and shops, Sunseeker Tranquil Retreat Penthouse is a fully refurbished, architecturally designed spacious three story fully self catering apartment. A premium offering with 2 large ensuite bedrooms, separate powder room, full kitchen and private roof top terrace.

There are many factors that make our penthouses the ideal choice when planning a holiday in these uncertain times. We take cleaning seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure your safety. We have always received compliments for the cleanliness of our apartments, but are now taking further measures to make sure surfaces are properly disinfected between stays. We also source our bed linen and towels from professional suppliers who take additional steps to ensure linen is properly disinfected between stays and have always used pillow case protectors which are cleaned and changed between every stay. So when staying with us, you can rest assured that your safety is front of mind in every step we take.

Other factors to consider when choosing to stay with us:
• there are only 10 apartments in our building with the majority used as a permanent residences, so you will not be exposed to large numbers of other tourists during your stay
• there are no lifts, only open air stairwells which means you won't be in confined spaces with others when accessing your apartment
• with a fully equipped kitchen in the apartment you are able to source groceries from our local Coles supermarket (contactless delivery option is also available), cook up a feast and enjoy it with a glass of wine from your private rooftop terrace surrounded by stunning views - all from the safety of the apartment
• Contactless check-in means you don't have to interact with anyone on arrival, just head straight up to your apartment, enter your unique four digit code on the keypad and you're in
• with only 10 apartments in the building, our guests often comment that they have the pool area to themselves
This and many other reasons make choosing to stay with us the right choice when considering the health and safety of both yourself and your loved ones.

Sunseeker is nestled in tropical gardens, with a resort style pool, timber decks and deck chairs. Designed by one of Port Douglas' leading architects to reflect his passion for boats, it is situated in the famed Golden Triangle between Port Douglas' premier locations - Four Mile Beach and Macrossan Street. With less than a minute’s stroll to the beach and Macrossan Street's restaurants and less than a 5 minute stroll to the Marina and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, this is a highly sought after and unique location that not only offers a quiet setting for a good night's sleep and relaxation but also remains so close to all that Port Douglas has to offer.

One of the two largest Sunseeker penthouses (see my host details for information about our second penthouse also available for holiday rent), the penthouse has sweeping high ceilings, is light and bright and has been fully refurbished and refurnished throughout including a brand new kitchen, all new air conditioners and quality beds for extra comfort.

The large living area has stunning high ceilings, furnished with a designer chaise lounge, flat screen TV, stereo system and DVD Player. The private balcony which flows from the living area, looks out over a fringe of tropical vegetation; with a small outdoor setting it is the perfect spot for breakfast with the birds, an afternoon drink or cooking a barbecue on your own Weber Q barbecue. Branching off the living area is a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a six seat modern dining setting. Newly tiled floors and an entry foyer that has a vaulted ceilings and a sweeping staircase up to the levels beyond make this a truly special place to call home when visiting Port Douglas.

All rooms are fully air conditioned, with both bedrooms featuring a private ensuite and built in robes. The guest bedroom on level one has a beautiful corner window looking out to the lush tropical gardens surrounding the building. Its two king single beds can be zipped to make a king size bed, making this the ideal getaway for couples.

The master bedroom, with queen size bed, is situated on the second level and has the added luxury of a spa bath. With stunning views up to the nearby hills and Murphy Street it also has shutters that open up the room to the sweeping ceilings of the living area below and the gardens beyond.

Level three opens out to your own private roof top terrace, sundeck and outdoor dining area with stunning views of the mountains and good glimpses of the coral sea through palm trees.

A fifth guest can be accommodated on a rollaway bed in the living room which is also serviced by the powder room.

You will have access to all common areas, the car park and of course the pool (with only 10 apartments in the building - most of them residential - we often find our guests have the pool area to themselves).

Whilst our apartments are fully self-catering, we’re pleased to provide our guests with a starter pack of life’s basic amenities! This includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, soap, 2 dishwasher pellets, 2 laundry powder satchels, 2 Nespresso compatible coffee pods, tea and coffee, beach towels, bathroom towels, all linen and blankets, 2 rolls of toilets paper per bathroom and more. There is a Coles supermarket within easy walking distance should you need some extra supplies.

Believe it or not, Port Douglas is spread over a large area, so where you stay actually matters. We often hear from guests who stay further away from the central part of town and end up moving during their stay as they didn't realise how far they were from town! Don't get caught out. Our property is situated in the famed Golden Triangle between Port Douglas' premier locations - Four Mile Beach and Macrossan Street. With less than a minute’s stroll to the beach or Macrossan Street's restaurants and less than a 5 minute stroll to the Marina and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, this is a highly sought after and unique location that not only offers a quiet setting for a good night's sleep and relaxation but also remains so close to all that Port Douglas has to offer.

There are many tour operators just minutes from the apartment who can help with bookings for your chosen adventures. We find many of our guests prefer minimal interaction, however we're always only an email or phone call away if you need us. As with many Airbnb properties, the host does not live on-site, however we have locals available to help out in the unlikely event something goes wrong.
