Guests will be inspired by learning of the history and character of the Highland breed in the surroundings of the self-built Roundhouse. Then we will walk to the purpose built Meeting Barn (shared between humans and animals as in days past). We gather in the atrium of tall larch logs around the central hearth sharing stories about our animals, as our ancestors did in the forests of this land. You will meet the animals that are being hand reared and taught to walk for the shows and spectacles for which pedigree Highlanders go through their paces. You will be introduced to Baby and Boy -giant sweet-natured bullocks who adore being fed and talked to. Next, (weather permitting!;-)) you will see the main herd of breeding mothers with their babies -(the nearest thing to real-life teddy bears!)- and Dougie the timid, affectionate bull. Afterwards you can explore the pastures where the animals roam at large. At the end of the tour you are free to wander the farm under your own steam, or enjoy stunning walks in the immediate vicinity with magnificent photographic opportunities. For those wanting to deepen their understanding of the Highlanders, on-farm accommodation is available on Airbnb Crofthouse at the Roundhouse (sleeping up to 8) or Hairy Cow Studio (cosy for 1-2 people). It is not possible to supervise one-on-one contact with the animals; for this check out 'Hug a Hairy' :-)

壮大な滝と人けのない場所
We'll meet at my house in Inverness and drive to the start of our hike through native woodland over a single track road that borders the shore of Loch Ness. We'll then walk down through the forest navigating through the trails to enable the best views of the falls. On the way I'll chat about the history of the location and its connection with Robbie Burns, pointing out some of the hidden inscriptions and poems found on rocks as we walk to the lookout areas for the falls. We'll then head further down through the trails and wonderful scenery as I explain more about the ecology of the area and we'll keep our eyes peeled for deer, red squirrel and if we're really lucky we may see signs of Otters, eventually we'll emerge on the banks of Loch Ness where a certain beastie lives. We head along the shoreline to discover some of the old abandoned huts and climb up to a hidden monument that overlooks the loch. We continue through old burial grounds, stopping at the disused bridge for more photos, and a view up along the lower falls river. Returning gently back up through the forest and gorge to the top where we will have a well-deserved cake and coffee/tea in the Waterfall Cafe. Other things to note Guests need to have a moderate level of fitness and the ability to walk a good 3 miles. Please ONLY consider this tour if your health allows for this kind of activity.
ネス湖畔でのダイニング体験
We welcome you with drinks and roaring fire pits on the shores of loch ness with stunning views! After a wee chat and getting to know each other we can sit in the outdoor eating area ( covered if inclement weather) where we will enjoy a delicious 3 course meal using our amazing local suppliers and artisan producers. After dinner you will be regaled with stories of our Scottish life and culture. There is often scottish folk music if there has been enough whisky tasting!! And you can leave when you're ready! Transport to and from the bay can be arranged at an extra cost if required. Other things to note. This is an outdoor eating experience so please dress accordingly!! Let us know if you have any special dietary requirements!
ネス湖を眼下にならず者やピクト人の話を聞いてウイスキーで乾杯
Hidden secret gardens, 'baby' Giant Sequioa, Rogues, Vikings and possibly even a monster are the things you'll hear about and see during our walk around the Craigmonie Woodland and Balmacaan Estate. Meeting at my house we'll head towards the old estate and wind our way through a mix of oak and native Scots pine woodland on the path up to the viewpoint. Along the way you'll hear the history of the area from visits by Robert the Bruce, the legend of a Norse Prince who lent his name to a couple of landmarks and a Bard that got into a spot of bother with the local clan chief. The viewpoint itself will give spectacular views over Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness where you can pause and soak up the scenery. We'll stop here for a while to have a dram of malt whisky and toast the scenery before meandering back home under the crag and through Hazel woods. Other things to note: The path is mostly good quality singletrack and forest path and there is a fair amount of ascent involved so a reasonable amount of fitness is required.
素晴らしい場所で日の出を眺める
Ths is a chance to experience a sunrise high up at the monument known as Cnoc Fyrish above the Cromarty Firth. Its a very early start as we need to drive out to the area and climb to the top for the sunrise - but it will all be worth it! At the monument I will help in you getting the best from your camera and ensure you take some super sunrise shots, we'l then have a picnic of shortbread and coffee. The walk is around 2.5 hours there and back with time at the top it's normally 3 hours covering around 4km with a challanging 300m ascent. But we take it at your pace and with incredible views the whole way, we stop for plenty of photos as we catch our breath on the way up! You do need to be prepared for windy and chilly weather, even in summer and it may mean that our picnic is a speedy one, or we have it lower down the hill once we have seen the sunrise. In the case of rain we may not be able to see a sunrise, but the tour will still go ahead. Other things to note Guests need to have a moderate level of fitness and the ability to walk a hilly 5 miles. Please ONLY consider this tour if your health allows for this kind of activity.
