Join this "tachinomi" standing bar tour to explore Takamatsu City at night with me and get a little tipsy!! Tachinomi is a type of Japanese bar where customers drink and eat while standing at a table or counter. Its casual nature and wallet-friendly prices make it perfect for someone who wants to have a quick drink with some light meal in a lively environment. After meeting at a nearby station, we'll walk down an alley with a good-old Japanese atmosphere into modern shopping arcades whose combined length is the longest in the country. As we go, we'll drop by several unique tachinomi bars to enjoy comparing tastes of various Japanese sakes. I only select bars that I personally frequent so that you can have a good time interacting with the owner and other customers in a comfortable atmosphere. Some examples are: A bar run by a female owner in lovely kimono with a wide selection of fragrant, fruity sake; One owned by a sake-buff couple where you can choose from a whole range of popular sake brands, as well as some hard-to-find stuff; One that offers various locally-brewed sakes, and actually sells them for you to bring back home as a souvenir. After you've fully enjoyed your tachinomi experience, I'll walk you to a nearby location of your choice (hotel, restaurant, pub etc.) to conclude the tour.
