Combining our two passions for yarn and beads, we decided to offer a few workshops to showcase and teach some unique jewelry creations. Our first one is called “Pinwheels”, in which you will learn how to use various yarns and embellishments that will eventually be turned into a “one of a kind” statement pendant or necklace.
I have owned the Silver Bead and Yarn Shop for over 17 years in downtown Glenwood Springs. My Mom, Elaine helps me run the shop as well as the workshops we will be offering. We specialize in gemstone beads from around the globe and we also carry freshwater pearls, faceted crystals, unique pendants, finished jewelry and supplies. We are also a small yarn shop for those interested in knitting and crocheting. Our variety of unique yarns and notions makes a wonderful addition to the store. As a graduate of Fashion Design, I worked for designer houses in London and New York, but eventually decided “home is where the heart is” and moved back to my beloved little mountain town. I love to share artistic ideas with our customers and help them find their creative spirit. Elaine is an expert knitter with over 50 years of experience.
A yarn and bead supply “basket” which will be included with the price of the workshop
You will come and join us here at our store The Silver Bead which is located at 927 Grand Avenue in downtown Glenwood Springs, up near The Vaudeville. We will have the supplies needed to create your “Pinwheels” and will guide you along the way in the creative process.
A basic knowledge of beads and yarn would be helpful for this workshop, but it is not required. We will show you the skills you will need to create the Pinwheels, but a bit of patience and focus will be necessary.
