This half day tour and hike is a combination of an easy 1.5-2 hour hike and a visit to an old logging town, Snoqualmie and the famous Snoqualmie Falls of Washington state. We will meet in Seattle downtown area and drive eastward towards eastern Washington for about 30 minutes until we arrive at Olallie State Park. We will hike in the forest along a river and then zigzag up a hill to a view point of Twin falls, which is a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest. We then hike through old growth forest to the Twin Falls, where we spend some time exploring the Twin Falls, upper and lower falls and have a snack break. We hike back to the trail head and drive past Mount Si to the old small historic logging town of Snoqualmie. There you will learn about how logging was the major industry in Washington in the last century. The old logging locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the main train station is now a museum in Snoqualmie. We have a break in the town and there is an opportunity to explore the cozy little cafes and shops or the small museum. Then, a few minutes drive from Snoqualmie town we stop for the scenic famous Snoqualmie Falls, which is a big fall of 270 feet and average width of 100 feet. We finish the tour by driving by Borst Lake, where the water is so still that Mount Si is reflected in the lake and then head back to Seattle downtown.
I am a geographer and have been hiking in nature for most of my life. I love nature and I have spend many hours hiking in the forests and mountains in Washington state. I guided tours in the North Cascades and shared my knowledge about the geology and landscape formation of the region. Washington state offers everything from snow peaks and glaciers to sandy beaches and many islands. I enjoy hiking with people and sharing the experience of beauty and silence that nature holds. I do easy walks as well as moderate and more strenuous hikes and I enjoy the company of people of all ages. I am very flexible and try to accommodate for my guests' interest and wishes. I offer touring and hiking that is fun and interesting and an authentic Northwest experience.
