**DURING WINTER THIS EXPERIENCE WILL RUN ONLY ON FRIDAYS. IF YOU ARE A GROUP OF 3+ AND ARE INTERESTED IN ANOTHER DAY, SEND A MESSAGE** We go to five hidden gems of Serbian cuisine and sample seven authentic Serbian dishes. Each place specializes in one food and is my favorite example of that food in the city. I rarely see another tourist at any of the spots we go to. Dishes we'll eat include: Burek (two types of filo dough pie, one with meat and one with cheese) Serbian sausage Serbian pizza (with shocking toppings) Šopska Salad Sarajevski Ćevapi with kajmak and ajvar Serbian crepe with Eurocrem and Plazma crumbs Don't know what those are? Many have no translation into English because they only exist in the Balkans. Most are heavy dishes with meat, cheese, cream, and local sauces. There is also some salad and dessert. Beyond eating as much of these foods as we can handle, I'll talk a bit about their histories. The route is 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) total, split up with the five stops.
I have a passion for trying new foods and a big appetite. When I travel, I try to plan each meal to try something delicious, typical of the city where I am, and different from what I can eat at home. That's the idea of this tour: to try seven different Serbian foods in one meal during a pleasant walk through the center of Belgrade. I promise you won't leave disappointed... or hungry! We're going to go to places that local Belgraders love and that you might miss if you don't come on this tour.
Eat your fill of seven Serbian dishes from appetizers and salads through main courses all the way to dessert.
A tiny buregdžinica that specializes in savory pies. The best 24 hour sausage place in the world. A basement pizzeria that has only one type of pizza available but eight spreads that you would never think to put on top. A family restaurant that excels at meat and a special type of Serbian cream about which odes are written--literally. And a creperie with the two crepe toppings Serbs have eaten for decades.
All food is included in the price. Eat as much as you'd like. No one has ever finished the tour hungry, and you won't either!
