This 2 hour Walking Tour through Belfast will take in 4 city centre based bars rich in history. With a good selection of pubs to choose from you will be taken back in time through these authentic historical places. As we walk between pubs I will also share more historical information about the rise of Belfast as an Industrial powerhouse, though to the modern day and post the modern day Troubles. You will have the opportunity to have a drink in each pub and experience their unique character.
I have been living and socialising in Belfast for over 25+ years and I'm very familiar with the best historical pubs/bars this City has to offer. I will be taking you off the beaten track through some of Belfast's oldest streets to bars which reach back into Belfast's early history. I am passionate about visitors seeing an alternative side of Belfast. Being able to share these unique and lesser known bars, their history and character with others brings me huge satisfaction; these bars and areas are rich in history, which I will share with you. I am also a seasoned guide with 5+ years experience of taking people around Belfast; I'm relaxed, easy going and will try to make sure you have a unique and memorable time as we pass through the City and enjoy some lesser known bars and their history.
Bittles Bar - iconic flat iron shape in the heart of Belfast. Jailhouse Bar - a sensitive restoration of one of Belfast's most historical buildings (the Entries). Whites Tavern - the oldest surviving bar in Belfast since 1630. McHughs - Belfast's oldest surviving building in Custom House Sq. Kellys Cellars - the longest continous running pub in Belfast The Morning Star - beautiful pub along the Entries. The Mermaid - another locals Entries pub.
While this is a historical pub tour you are not required or expected to drink during it. Given the 2 hour timeframe in which the Tour takes places stops at the bars will be relatively brief.
