We will meet in a Café in the industrial non touristy area of La Boca where I will give you a context of Graffiti and Urban Art in the city of Buenos Aires. No worries, no more than 5 minutes, you are there to see and talk about murals. From there, we will start a walk that explores the 3 editions of the Color BA - a mural festival that reunited artists from around the world to paint the walls of La Boca -, having a conversation not only about the different styles of Graffiti in Buenos Aires and the reasons why this is one of the most important cities in the world when it comes to street art, but also about its social meaning and the importance of this art to La Boca's community and the relationship of its people with it.
Marcelo: I'm a Brazilian who came to Buenos Aires in 2011 for the first time and I just couldn't have enough of it. After many comings and goings, in 2014 I decided to assume a serious relationship with this city and established here for real. Best decision of my life. Since 2016, I've been dedicating myself to show people the city I fell in love with, combining my History major with my screenwriting studies to tell these stories. Cristina: I came from Galicia and, as many of my ancestors, I got stuck in this city. I love the way people improvise and live day by day. I am currently studying Social Anthropology, which helps me understanding -a little bit more- beyond Western-European parameters where I am and who are we sharing the streets with. Plus, I am a football player and I guess that qualifies as a perfect match.
Get prepared to walk and discover the streets of the great and unique neighborhood of La Boca. But not the beaten/"tourists trap"/souvenir shops/"take a picture with a Tango dancer for U$ 10" path. I'm talking about the B Side, the places that make this neighborhood so authentic.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior the experience begin. We meet inside Café Vittorio and we DO NOT CANCEL the tour due single bookings; so if you travel alone, no worries, you may have a blind date. ;)
