Visit our 900-acre certified Biodynamic, organic, and Animal Welfare Approved farm and help our dairy herd manager bring the cows in from their day out grazing on pasture. Depending on which field they’re in, and how the cows are behaving, this portion of your visit can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes. If we finish closer to the 30 minute time frame, there will be the opportunity to participate in additional farming activities which may include helping with milking, brushing cows, and helping to feed grain. We ask that you join us with a sense of open-mindedness. When working with animals, the schedule revolves around them. Some days the cows are eager to get back to the barn, while on other days they are less cooperative and need more encouragement - or the calves can decide to be mischievous and scamper off! Bring your sense of adventure and an appreciation for spontaneity as, really, anything can happen! Once you're done helping with farm chores, visit our store for a 'made on our farm' organic yogurt and granola snack.
Hawthorne Valley Association
Hawthorne Valley is a living laboratory of collaborative learning and research where we work to address some of today’s most pressing concerns such as climate change, educating creative and resilient children, and rebuilding healthy and fair food systems. We do this through regenerative farming, hands-on education geared toward developing the whole person, and compassionate commerce.

Made on our farm organic yogurt and granola.
We will be mostly outdoors on our 900-acre Biodynamic farm, walking the cow paths and fields, and experiencing the natural beauty and magic of our little valley - sometime referred to by visitors as 'Happy Valley'. Back at the barns, we will spend some time in our milking barn, or the loafing barn, depending on which additional farming activities we'll be doing - helping with milking, brushing cows, or feeding some supplemental grain.
5歳以上の方5名まで参加できます。 Guests should be comfortable around animals, and be willing to get their hands (and boots) dirty. This activity is rain or shine (with the exception of severe weather or extreme heat).
