To start we'll visit over 800 yers old Suwa shrine to pray for safety walk of the day. We’ll learn history of this shrine and basic manner of how to worship Japanese shrine. Secondly we will be visiting Fujimi slope to learn about how Edo city has been built and why. A story about Mt fuji and how we used to think about it. The story connects with shrines. We will learn about the histories of the story behind about Fujimi slope. The area's called “Yanesen”. 3 women who lives this area and used to publish a magazine called “Yanesen” established about 30 years ago. The word is originally come from name of the magazine. Their work really contributed this area to be famous. As they're fiends, I officially have a permission to use a word of “Yanesen”. We will be experiencing wonderful yanesen area by walking through town too see how everyday life to go ing through here. Next we will be walking towards to very old Himalayan cedar. This tree is one of a symbol of our town. We will also see a temple in this area to know difference between temple and shrine. Then walk towards to a my friend's traditional Japanese Miso shop . Miso is a fermented with yeast fungus. It contains may vitamins and minerals. We'll taste a miso soup. At last we'll go to a local supermarket. We will see the things that you are interested in. I will explain what they are in English.
I was born this local area of Tokyo. Spent my students life intermediate though up to university in New Zealand. Because of this I'll have no trouble communicating in English. The town we will be walking is my local area. (I have guided many overseas friends in the past and they really enjoyed my tour.) Because of this reason I know many little secrets spots and episodes of the local walks witch are not popular to be on the guide books. There are some advances for me to guide you as I know many local people in this ares to appeal you to touch every day life of Japanese people. We will start with Nippori station. Then we will be walking towards to the Suwa shrine. After that, Walk through Yanesen area with a very nallow roads witch are hard to figure out with a guide map (I can also show you several Japanese souvenir shops).Walk towards to the Himalayan cedar and a temple. Visit very old miso shop and taste a miso soup. In the end we will visit a local supermarket to find out everyday life items.
