We will meet at the river where we will load up into a high quality commercial raft. This is a leisure float down the third oldest river in the world. You will get a chance to relax and get to know the other guests. Your guide can provide you lots of local information on all the great things there are to do in Asheville. You will stay dry and warm while you enjoy the colors of the leaves along the river. The trip is 4 miles long and allows a chance to experience bar hopping by raft! We will relax and enjoy cold beverages and river views. We will stop at a fantastic local restaurant/bar along the river to take a break from the sun, use the rest room, grab a delicious bite to eat and a drink. We will then jump back in and continue down river to our takeout an another local beer venue. I have chosen some spots that are off the beaten path to give you a unique Asheville experience.
I am a former Outward Bound wilderness instructor. I have 15 years of trip leading experience and have lived in Asheville since the mid 90's. I have instructed white water canoeing and guided commercial raft trips in Colorado. I have rafted, canoed and tubed the rivers of NC since the 90's. I know how great the river is and I am excited to share it with you. We have several quality guides that assist me with delivering the best experience possible. Some days I will be your guide but other days I will be leading a hiking or mountain biking trip and and one of my awesome hosts will be there for you instead.
I will have a cooler with ice. I will have water and sodas. You are welcome to bring a couple beers to throw in the cooler…
