Our experience takes place in a neighborhood called Bom Retiro or Bairro da Luz. We will meet at the entrance of the Museum of Sacred Art in Sao Paulo, also known as Mosteiro da Luz where we will visit the museum and its collection. Later we will leave the museum to enter the Bom Retiro district. Walking through its narrow streets we can see how this neighborhood, once considered an area with an high concentration of Italians, Jews and East European migrants, has now become much more diversified, hosting the largest community of Koreans in Latin America in addition to a very strong and growing Bolivian community. There will be some special points that I will have the pleasure to show you and if we want we will be able to take a break for a coffee and a Korean, Brazilian or Bulgarian sweet! You will decide :) Once we jump to the famous Jose Paulino, a street full of clothing stores, we will cross the Jardim da Luz, a wonderful example of a colonial era public garden, the oldest in the city among other things. We will conclude, if we can say so, by visiting a real jewel inside the Jardim, the Pinacoteca of the State of Sao Paulo.
