The adventure begins right on the sand as we push off into the water on our four-person catamaran. After a tour around Mission Bay with a cold beer and some good music, we’ll beach the boat and hop off at Paradise Point to walk over to the Barefoot Bar for one of their famous Mai Tais and some serene bayside setting. Then we’ll push off again and head back across the bay. The sail is hands on, and you will get to learn the different parts of the sailboat and how it operates—and have a great time in the process.
Other things to note
Space on the boat is limited so please pack light. Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet. We also suggest bringing the following items: cheap sunglasses, towel, sunscreen, sandals, and a smile.

I love being out on the water, and one of my favorite ways I've found to do that is by sailing a Hobie Cat around Mission Bay. After my wife and I took several groups of friends out on the sailboat, we realized this was something truly special. We decided we wanted to share this experience with anyone visiting San Diego who is looking for an unforgettable experience on the water.

We start off at Fanuel Park on Mission Bay, where the boat is located. Then we will sail across the bay to the Paradise Point Resort before coming back to Fanuel Park.

On this day, Captain Chris was in charge, I happened to be there by myself, and he provided a really lovely experience to me as a visitor of San Diego. Chris explained so much about the area and culture, and I enjoyed the Hawaiian ambiance of the restaurant we visited on the island across the bay. The catamaran was fun, we saw a bunch of wildlife on the water, even in October! Thumbs up, highly recommend!

Our group had a great time! There was a small switch up at the last minute so we ended up with Chris and a slightly different boat, but Matt was very helpful the whole time! We never felt like we were in the dark about what was going on.
The wind was strong so we made it across the bay quickly and had drinks at Barefoot (where there was a wedding going on so we had some great people-watching). We crossed the bay again and went swimming on the beach. We all felt really comfortable on the boat and Chris was a lot of fun. Definitely prepare to get wet though! Waterproof backpack is a must! Overall it was a great afternoon and it went by way too fast.

I'm so glad we booked this adventure... So fun! What an awesome way to get wet and enjoy the absolutely beautiful San Diego weather. We sailed on a bigger boat the following day but the time on this little Hobie cat beat that hands down. Go for it!

This was a must my boyfriend and I came to San Diego. A few friends from home (Boston) had done this trip with Matt and loved it. It was such a great day to sail. Beers, music, and some good stories. Thank you Matt for hanging out with this past weekend. Hopefully our paths cross again someday.
