Meet me inside the Big Red Llama Barn located on Prairie Patch Farm and get to know the llamas; AJ &Ollie. You can brush their woolly mane, and feed them a few treats. You may even get a llama kiss! (Nose to nose) I will provide information about llamas, tips and tricks for interacting with them and how to hold their lead rope. I will also answer any questions you have. We will then head out on a guided llama hike, (you can walk the llamas!) on the farms 50 acres of mowed trails through a wildlife refuge and nature preserve. The hike lasts approximately 45 minutes through tall grass prairies, a shallow creek crossing, and hilly cedar groves. (With a stop to rest if needed) Many wildlife sightings may include white tail deer, hawks, turkeys and a variety of birds! The experience will take about 1.5 hours. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes and dress for the weather! -KIDS HIKE FREE! For every booked adult one child 12 and under hikes free. Please book only the adults and send us a message including the number of children and their ages. Up to 10 people may book the experience. We are so excited to share these intelligent and charming animals with you by getting up close and personal with them and venturing out into the wonder of nature here on Prairie Patch Farm! Kahle is a former music therapist with a passion and genuine love for animals, especially llamas! In the future she plans to utilize the llamas in therapeutic settings including hospitals and care centers. Please park in circle drive by the red barn. Hike includes a creek crossing with no bridge. Must be able to walk across rocks. Please consider bringing water, sunscreen or bug spray. Appropriate clothing for weather. Cancellation may occur in cases of cold and high heat at hosts discretion
